He's so right. Everyone's celebrating Millie and wanting to pretend like everything about her is fun and happy. But the reality is, she's in a very dangerous situation. Fame literally kills children, and it kills their spirits. Hopefully she will get some serious therapy over the next few years.

@@wolverineiscool7161 how old are you? because it is a known fact that most hollywood children superstars are always in danger of being "corrupted" and "ruined" to the point that they disappear completely. Drugs, partying, money etc etc. so many have been affected by this

Hopper is so protective of Eleven in the show, and it’s so nice to see that carry over into real life.

He's right, kids are in more danger in this industry.

He’s awesome, he treats Millie like his actual daughter.

this is so wholesome and makes me so happy. people need to be more like him. it’s so important to protect children from the shit that she’s going through. same with finn wolfhard. it’s so sad that they have to go through something as disgusting as this. the sexualisation of child actors needs to be squashed out immediately.

Hundred percent right David, I respect your opinion very much

Sorry for the long post, but I just have to go ahead and say this. I've been thinking the exact same thing, as I think that David Harbour expressed the concern of every fan, being protective of this incredibly talented and articulate and bright young lady. Especially, the concerns of those of us who, like David, have seen what this kind of immediate and universal fame - with all the unnecessary attention that comes with it (not just the endless interviews and photoshoots, but also the constant and brutal harassing by the media and paparazzi, and stalkers, and even worse...) - can do to a young mind. All we can do, as David said, is to hope that she remains grounded, as I believe she is, and that she keeps being supported, not only by the family, but also - very important - by good people in the business, that know what dangers lie ahead. So that she can always fallback and rely on good people, at home as in work. And that's the tricky part, especially with all this absolute and terrifying cancer that's being going on, in Hollywood. I think there is an incredible chemistry, among the cast and crew and directors of Stranger Things, on and off set. Which is excellent, for these little guys, to be able to confide and trust each other, and being able to do the same with older, more experienced people, like awesome "papa bear" David.

You spoke out of my soul, it would be very sad to see Millie or one of the boys in a bad headline. It's their nature, which made Stranger Things so unique. Look at Gaten and his role, there is no other person who could portray Dustin like him. They need to keep on going like this, thats what makes them so lovable. Thats why we are huge fans of them and the series. But its great to hear that David wants to be protective, like some sort of mentor, and I hope he succeeds being protective. Kids like Millie are influencing, they need to be guided by good people so that in future they can be good role models for the next generations.

I'm with you on that. I think these little guys are totally fantastic, tremendously talented (all of them), and really mature (way beyond their years). And as inspiring figures go, they are, already, great role models, on and off set, for millions of teen fans, all around the World. I think these kids are standouts on this, I really think that they are very much aware of themselves, and of the positive influence they have as teen icons. Personally speaking, like David said, I just want them to keep right on going, just keep being damn awesome as they are.

EddieLeiria Aaaaand look where we're right now... two months after our little chat and I hear some bad news about Millie and this boy Jacob Sartorius she dates. This guy asked fans for nudes and she still dates him, fans are really mad and concerned about her for being so stubborn and ignorant. I immediately thought about our convo here at KZread. It's really sad to see this negative development in her and I'm afraid that we're losing another great human being to this f****d up industry...

Well, we'll have to wait and see, I think... They're still very, very young - God knows I did some pretty stupid and mindless stuff, when I was their age (and older...) - mistreated good people, or ignored some good advice (out of sheer stuborness, youthful defiance, or blind faith)... One thing we all must keep in mind, is that we have to let these kids be kids. Kids are stubborn, they don't like being given advice - that's why they make mistakes, but that's also why they evolve from them. And that's how we all grow up. We've all been there. That's how we all start to have a deeper, more rational and more mature view and approach to things, that's how we start to give away (some) of our own stubbornness, and start listening more. I'm still and always a huge fan of Millie's, I was really, really proud of her latest achievement (being nominated on the Time 100 list). And I do hope that this whole "quarrel", will be just an unfortunate blip on her way.

EddieLeiria Yeah sure we all did mistakes and sometimes still do, we're humans after all. I totally understand that she's right in the middle of puberty... But ever since she started dating this boy Jacob she lost a bit of her charm that made us adore her so much. After all this drama (there is proof that he did cheat) she's still posting pictures with him like nothing happend. She's disrespecting herself with this behavior. That's what concerns me so much. The Millie we know is way too smart to do such things.

Im so proud and happy that Millie has someone who would protect her and I hope that David gives her advice or tips about things that she can do and what not to do. Like not to look so exposing in pictures just because her stylist wants her to show off the outfit. And if Millie starts to reach the rebellious stage where our decisions is a little silly, David is one of the very few and rare people that will be by her side

This is very true and I noticed the same thing pretty quickly as well. I am glad that he is protecting her. One thing MBB has that is very positive is that her whole family is behind her acting career, and her father is taking an active role in her upbringing. A fatherly figure is very important for kids, whether they be boys or girls, and what better thing could be than to have a father who actively helps instead of passively advising? And for MBB to have a father in the house, and a father in the industry, I am extremely happy for this! I don't know any of the ST kids cast but I hope all of them stay safe, don't get drunk, depressed, or other things.

He wasn't wrong. Millie did go through a few rough spots but thankfully she really seems to have found a way to navigate her way through the dangers abd has a good level head about everything today.
