One time, when my brother and I were home just the 2 of us, a guy I didn't recognize came to the door, and said he was with Envirotech. I was about 14 or 15 at the time. I told him that my parents were busy, and couldn't be there at that moment. After he left, my brother (about 12 or 13 at the time) got mad and said, "that was the Envirotech dude!" Just because that guy said he was with Envirotech, had an Envirotech shirt on, and a van that said Envirotech on the side was parked in our driveway, didn't mean this dude really worked for Envirotech. How did we know he wasn't just impersonating a guy from Envirotech just so he could get into our house and do some serious harm to one of us or to our house? How did we know he didn't just lie and say he was with Envirotech, and have the Envirotech decal on his shirt and van? Even if the van really did belong to Envirotech, how do we know that guy didn't steal it?

I deal with strangers all the time. Especially when it comes to new people in my Civil Air Patrol Squadron and Dojo. I also deal with Craigslist people and they are mostly strangers to me. Another thing I want to address is,given the fact that I have Autism,I am able to handle some of this stuff. I am also fascinated with safety.

Just out of curiosity, how MUCH reasearch have you done into Paige's parents before saying this? Even if you meant this as a joke, this is NOT OKAY to be joking about. I remember when I was 14 years old. I missed my bus for school and I had to wait outside in the pouring rain. This lady pulled up to me in her car and said, "get in the car. I'll give you a ride to school." I then said, "no. You are not my mother. You are a stranger." And the lady said, "I know I'm not your mother, but I know her." I wrote down the lady's license plate number and ran inside my home. I told Mommy about it and showed her the license plate number. She then said, "Hannah, I know who that is. She is not a stranger. She is just my good friend Mrs. Janzer. Her daughter goes to your school." Then, Mrs. Janzer came knocking on my front door and she talked to Mommy and I got into Mrs. Janzer's car and she took me to school. When we got to school, her daughter walked me in and I told her that it was nice of her mother to give me a ride to school when I missed my bus. When I was 18 years old, I was walking home from Wawa with bags of butter. This guy came up to me in his car and asked me if I wanted a ride home. I said no. After that, he just drove away.

My parents told me to "never talk to strangers" So I did... I never got any friends, never socialized with others, stopped talking completely outside the family circle. And was even wrongly diagnosed with "selective mutism" When in reality all I did was following my parents orders... To put it simple, my life never really came back to normal after that... Even today I struggle hard to have a simple, normal conversation. (Remember that before all this I was very social and outgoing) Hard to even believe that I became scarred for life just for wanting to be a good child doing the right thing :(
