Love the old chop, so much history tied up in one machine! I lost my Dad back in 1979, he always had bikes and was a dispatch rider in WW2. Here I am, almost 67 years old and after 50 years of Japanese, German, Italian and British bikes I finally got a Harley Dyna last year which was an abandoned project that I've rebuilt. I carry my Dad's old motorcycle tool kit in the fork bag, in some small way it makes me feel a part of his spirit rides with me. Crazy hey? Subscribed from the U.K. ....... ride safe.

Great video. People have made the term chopper generic nowadays and I'm my world your bike is the definition of the word. Been riding 9 months before I was born and choppers to me have to be personal bikes. I mean yeah, the forks longer with some rake is the start but the rest of it just has to be an expression of who you are. Love your bike hands down. Thanks for posting. As always..... keep on keeping on.

I am now back home in Chicago IL... Hopefully I'll get a chance to chat with you guys. I was in a bad motorcycle accident back in June of 2021 broke my pelvis in half. Died once during surgery. I've healed up better than I ever thought I would or the doctors so I went out and bought another Harley. A 2023 road glide 3. Very first person in Illinois to own one

Greetings fellow Canuck! Ever hear of The Smoke Out? It's an event in North Carolina that used to be associated with the now defunct Horse Backstreet Chopper mag. The event has been resurrected by CycleSource mag and the event is better than any of the big rallies, IMHO. I originally went to it in 2006 and was blown away by all the bikes of the same ilk as Mr. Hornery's. I loved the event so much I went year after year and ended up being involved with it for the last 12 years. I myself am not mechanically adept to put together something like this bike, but love the party. Great people and wild times. We ride down to it every year/ Ride safe-Uncle Ben from Ontario

@@briansauer6695 Greetings as well fellow Canuck.. yes ive heard Of the smoke out. But because I live in Western Canada and I'm still working. I can't get the time off to go plus as you fully well know, there's a chance there's snow on the ground in Western Canada about the same time and smoke out is on.( shit ive seen snow every month of the yr in Alberta...🥺), plus the fact That it's 3800 plus Km one way to the smoke out from where i live... that makes for a long haul in Sept on bikes.. maybe someday, For now, I'll just have to watch It on KZread. Thanks for the reachout brother.. And as always Cheers from the Great White North 🇨🇦

My shovel is so bastardized, it doesn't even resemble an FXS lowrider anymore. Everything's been done to the bike just shy of making it a hardtail. I can always appreciate a bike that's has a bit of history and character of the rider.

Love the bike and all the pieces you've added to it! I can appreciate the work guys put into show bikes with special machined and store bought parts etc, but it's a real work of art when you repurpose objects and make your bike special. I've been involved with The Smoke Out since '06 and the original incarnation with all the fascinating machines that were ridden to the event is what drew me to it. One bike used a double barrel shotgun for the backbone. One last thing. Riding an '02 Superglide over 120,000 miles, and as a short guy, I always liked the mid pegs. Bought an '01 Wideglide and had my buddy make me some mid pegs and brackets for a second foot position the same way you made the horseshoe set. Good idea for putting on those miles! Wonderful story and bike. I have always liked choppers but never owned one. Closest I got was when I took the shocks off my old Triumph and installed pieces of pipe to make it a hard tail. That lasted about 5 minutes. I love all your custom features made from historic items. Your bike is a rider not a showpiece trailer queen. I wish you many more years of riding.

Can’t get any cooler than that . Hell of a history. My buddies are always giving me hell for riding my old chopper I bought as a basket case other than riding my Ultra Limited. The old chopper is more me than the cookie cutter black Ultra . . The guy I got it from was trying to build it . But he didn’t have the ability to do it. He actually hired me to build it for him . Then one day he called offering to sale it to me before getting it done. The whole time working on it I was thinking‘I’ve got to build me a bike next “. So when he called me I was like a fat kid on a piece of cake . Thanks for posting your story

Maxwell House is a cool old bike. I rode a sucker punch Sally which is a similar designed bike as Maxwell House. Rode it 10 miles that was enough for me. Felt like I was going to blow off the back of it. You guys are tougher than I am. I have been a subscriber to your channel since before your bike was stolen in Daytona Beach. Have seen Maxwell House in a lot of videos but have forgotten what each piece meant, thanks for refreshing my memory. We were both at little Sturgis Kentucky a few years ago but did not bump into you would have been nice to have met you both. In May of 2000 my youngest son was diagnosed with brain tumors so I've always had a soft spot in my heart for someone who has had brain tumors. So thankful you are doing well. Be careful, ride safe.

I had to keep my leg up for 20 miles. Oh the memories. I miss our biker friends. Anyway my husband died on his bike going to work. A city bus went through a red light. Bike totaled but parts I decided to bury. Ben was the second owner to die on this bike. So promise me people to bless your bikes and do not trust any cars. God bless❤️ OZARK? Springfield Mo here❤️

Sweet chopper buddy. Nice story Dude the first chopper I ever built was a shadow. Everyone thought it was a Harley. Built the hard tail frame. And hide the radiator in the frame. It looked cool sounded cool and road cool. Some people gave me shit. But most people thought it was badass. I’d still have it but a guy wanted it bad and traded me a bone stock sportster with only 4k miles. So I traded and chopped the sportster.
