@@TheCrafsMan I dont know about that
When I visited Ireland years ago, one thing that made me fall in love with the landscape was all the mossy rocks. When I got home, I looked up how much large rocks would cost, because I wanted to keep it in mind for when I lived on my own, and WHOA. I might as well buy a car, paint it like a rock, and then at least I could rock AND roll. Having been to theme parks, I knew you could get a pretty rock-like appearance with concrete, but I didn't know how I'd do something like that until this video! I want to make a big boulder for my yard now, cover it in some nice moss and put some little flowers around it. Mmmm.

Maybe you could find a small broken car that's ready for the junkyard. Then cover it in wire and spackle away with the concrete mix. It would be an interesting art installation, that would be easily movable if you made it with a built in cracks for one of the doors to remain operational. If you weren't kidding about the size that you wanted keep in mind that junk yards sometime pick up cars for free so you might have to pay for a tow trunk.

A tip on colouration: using liquid concrete colours (or dry colour mixed with a little water), flick dab or spray different colours onto the wet concrete after it is on the form and spritz them with pure water dilute. This helps create variations. I'd imagine the acrylic paint applied to the wet concrete might do the same, but I've never tried that.

Felt arms @:43! Crafsman don’t miss a thing! Great video.
Try using wire lath, it's usually less expensive than fabric and you won't need newspaper to keep the mud from falling through. One more thing, if you mix sawdust and wood shavings with the concrete it will encourage the growth of moss on your rock when it's in a shady, moist area.
Custom rocks wasn't something I was expecting a video on, but a quality video it was none the less
Some of those stickers would make great T-shirts 👍

Little known fact: I met a guy in California a while back when I was young whom was integral in the construction of the Matterhorn ride and all other “rocks” in the Disney theme parks. You would be shocked that all “rocks” are all artificial within the parks. They used all types of discarded metal trash like washing machines, bikes and stuff for the very middle internal welded structure before creating their secret lifelike external rock skin. He once told me he built a very large lifelike boulder using the same secret Disney formula in his front yard and one day just picked it up and placed it in another location in his front yard. He lives on a busy street and according to him he got flabbergasted looks from drivers going by. Thank you so much Sir Crafsman for sharing your secret rock recipe. Build your tower out of 2x4s nailed, screwed or bolted to your shed, cover with hardware cloth using a staple gun and cover with concrete/cement. Go for it! Do the walls the same way (don't put a nail into a power line or water or gas pipe- ask me how I know) but do one piece at a time unless you can sculpt the joints between "stones" in while you go.
We did some landscaping in our front yard this year and learned we can legally harvest 10 lbs per day from public lands. But we live in volcanoville out here in eastern Oregon, so we wore ourselves some gloves for the pokey rocks!
