On my 2006 C230 Sport, i did the Flowmaster 44 series 3" in/out with a 3" straight pipe from the cat back with a high flow cat and it sounds incredible. I do like this sound as well! Great job!

Delete cats , you can delete rear ones only to avoid check engine light... delete stock muffler , if you not satisfied buy after market muffler flowmaster or magnaflow . well I deleted all cats, straightpipe still waiting for my new aftermarket muffler

I'm glad it gave you an idea about doing an aftermarket muffler delete on these cars. What muffler brand would you go with it you did your muffler delete? Or leave it straight pipe?

That sounds amazing - Didn't know the C230 could sing such a tune. Did you end up replacing Cats with X-Pipe? V6 can be some of the best sounding engines. When I was member of the German Mustang club (largest mustang club in the world at the time), V6 exhausts were one of the hot topics that came up every other week. Ford has a subdivision called Ford Racing, which produces track level parts for their cars, and I thought of the V6 with a Ford Racing Exhaust as one of the best sounding V6. kzread.info/dash/bejne/pol-t6WwlrS_htI.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/dXuovKWBYtvbido.html Good idea to test listen the mufflers at the shop! The Borlas are so-so sound wise, some people love them.

I’m still trying to figure out if I like it or not. It’s a little too loud and bassy. I noticed there is a little drone at highways speeds. Which that’s a no for me on this car. Borla might either be it or put the AMG muffler back on it

The manual’s are hard to find! Definitely keep yours! Yeah both tires should spin, turn traction control off!

So I just did the same this week. I deleted the muffler and replaced with a Flowmaster Flowfx. It sounds awesome but it drones between 2-2.5k rpm with peak drone at 2400rpm. If you get stuck in that rev range say for example up hill under load it drones so heavy the car shakes. I'm now looking to replace the resonator with possibly a Magnaflow and last resort calculate and install a helmholtz resonator j pipe. How bad is your drone?

I thought I didn’t have drone until I went driving on the highway. There is drone from 70mph and upwards which is about 2700rpm and up. Up hill and under load there is drone. Mine doesn’t shake the car but I don’t like it. I would replace the resonator because that’s what stops drone. I was thinking possibly putting back the AMG muffler and replace secondary cats with an x-pipe??? I just don’t know if that will solve the drone and still keep it not loud and classy? Let me know what you think. But the resonator stops drone

@@HeyboysGarage also I just realised that mine is the c320, so on the highway at 70mph the car sits at 1800-1900rpm with cruise control on. The drone is underlying and would get annoying on a long journey. Regarding the car shaking at 2400rpm, it doesn't physically shake but the drone resonance is super strong and sub-bassy, that it feels like it does. Apparently another trick is to wrap the exhaust muffler with exhaust wrap to try suppress the vibrations. I do think the v6 engine sounds really cool though, very smooth and deep. Some tweaking and it will be perfect

Not much to be honest! I have K&N filters, tinted windows. Aftermarket wheels. And that’s about it! And exhaust

I have a 2007 c230 it recently has lost power ? They tell me my catyletic converters are clogged?? I think it’s my vacuume lines ? It’s my map sensor it’s sAd cause I’ve had it for 2 yrs never given me a problem did tune up spark plugs & I was told that my transmission was sealed didn’t requre an oil change? ?? But it also has the rear differential?? Need my power back ???? Seems as if everything’s failing it’s like self destruction mode??? Wtd?? So serviced transmission now 1st 2nd then 3rd4th 5th gears all the way to drive in sport or cruise ?? It feels as if it’s something so small like a sensor due to the fact if I put it in neutral and start all over at a red light it goes then it remembers and starts to forget to go to next higher gears?????please help me out with my 2007c230 DNT want to get rid of it????Thanks!!!

Your transmission is not sealed, it requires servicing every 40k miles. Sounds like that shop is not a place. Find a different shop. I know it's been a month now but any success on what the problem was??

Heyboys question, do you get hesitation when you slow down or rough idle? Please let me know, not sure and it's pissing me off! Thanks

The hesitation slowing down I do not, it could be engine braking a little hard from the transmission downshifting. I get that sometimes not as smooth as the CLK. But rough idle could be a number of things. How bad is it? Once in a while or?

Currently removed all three resonators. Only exhaust left are the primary cats and muffler

Some V6s sound better than V8s. FType S Jaguar is godly. Borla is quality.
