Justin Hartway No matter what you do, it's always going to sound kind of like an lawnmower, because it's a 4 cylinder. But a full exhaust (headers too) with resonators always sounds pretty cool, even if it isn't a V8.

The fact you can hear that turbo spool is awesome. I'd straight pipe one of those. Obviously, not just lop off the manifold. Maybe with some resonators, would sound excellent.

The reason it sounds so gnarly on the inside and vibrates is because you probably didn't put any piping in place of the old system? If exhaust exits under the car , especially near the driver without a turndown, it will cause all sorts of resonance inside the cabin and may even cause a semi-boner at certain rpm.

There is nothing like hearing your car for the first time, after that first exhaust mod. It’s always enjoyable, and entertaining.....even when it comes out sounding like shit. That being said....it doesn’t sound bad. On the outside. I had a Ford Edge Sport with the 3.7L and straight piped it...it sounded like ass on the inside, too. The outside sounded pretty nice. Must be a Ford thing. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Does it make a difference in sound removing the piping and leaving it like that vs removing the piping and actually adding a 2.5” straight pipe? Because I’ve removed my muffler before on my 2016 Hyundai Veloster and it sounds pretty good, but I’m planning on doing an actual muffler delete and want to know if it actually makes a difference in sound

If any of you are wanting to know. This isn't what a straight piped fusion will sound like. In this video all they did was unbolt the exhaust. I experienced the same tone when I took off my exhaust. Well I spent a long time cutting the muffler off and welding my own exhaust to straight pipe my 2.0L SE fusion and it is extremely quiet. I am actually quite confused by it myself, and a little disappointed. Different engine sizes may be different but this was my experience for a 2017 2.0L ecoboost fusion.

My 01 jetta exhaust rusted off at the tubo with 1.8 4 banger 5 speed and it was LOUD! But the best 2 weeks of my life!!!

That isn't technically straight piped, that is no exhaust. Straight pipe would actually have exhaust pipes dumping out to the rear with some sort of tips. I bet it would sound better with exhaust pipes going to the back with 3 fiberglass resonated tips. I had 1994 Taurus with a turbo muffler and a 3 inch fiberglass resonated tip that sounded pretty great back in the day.

Keegan Johnson Tbh it's a 4cylinder there's no sound difference when they both run the same exhaust mod only difference is the rasp that appears when vtec is active but you won't hear that on a d series since vtec on those is intake based only

TwisteeTheDark1 maybe to you, to me every engine has a unique sound. In general i like 4cyl that are 2L or more. I like F20Bs and H22s for example. Just not so much the buzzy 1.X engines. And Ds and Bs are the most notorious to have terrible exhaust mods done in that engine size class

Reminds me of when my 2005 Ford Escape 2.3 had a broken flex pipe. People kept asking me when I would fix it, but I kept stalling because I actually liked the sound. It didn't go as loud as this Fusion though 😆

I put a performance exhaust on a 3.5 Taurus Limited and it sounds bomb. I just got it to the point where is loud enough but not annoying on highway :3

Clorox Bleach Nope. The 3.5 is in the SHO Taurus. The Fusion Sport is the 2.7 twin turbo and it is all wheel drive as well.

Steve Vento europe doesnt get the taurus or the fusion

It sounds like a honda

I remember my dad's old 86 Chevy Scottsdale didn't have a muffler on it and you couldn't even hear the person talking next to you beside the truck

my dad 2016 Toyota tundra has a v8 5.7 liter and it sounds awesome when you floor it sounds almost like a sports car and the exhaust is completely stock.
