it's cool when it isn't turned up to 11 all the fucking time. Bear was annoying af in this vid tbh. of the small group of people interested in melee 1v1s I'm guessing it's even fewer who want some cringelord who isn't even one of the duelists whining the entire time.

yea, im puttin all my chickens in stouty, no way he doesnt pull through here update, still watching, im on the brim of my seat update, i had to stop watching, its too much, stouty is just too good i cant handle update, okay im back to watching, about a minute in, im caked in so much sweat i keep sliding off my chair update, downloaded a browser extension to watch the video at 0.2 speed so i dont miss a second of the action, will be watching all future stouty videos in this format so they are feature films

Wow good duel, last ones when redblue guy changed to zwai were super close, would want to see full duel of him with zwai. But unfortunately he doesn't do the shit attacks that zwai pro's do, there so much you can do with it, but he played like it was a great sword, only 3-2 moves repeatedly, wanna see the duel against zwai master someday

Watching tank shield 3htk is what keeps me not playing this game

when i see high lvl people duel it always seems to me like they do a very minimal mouse movement for both accels and drags, is this true or am i missing something?

im curious. have u touched renown combat alpha yet stouty? I know the NDA prevents people from making videos about it but beta is coming up in a couple months (no NDA for beta). Was curious if you're gonna play it

@@Stouty yea the combat is far simpler than mordhau and chiv. It feels like I’m trying to play piano while missing 3 fingers I feel like 😂. But I mean it makes sense. It’s not purely a combat game so it works. Although Z is planning on making some nice changes to the combat soon. I’d love to see you in duels sometime 👍

If you practice properly you don't have to think much in the fights themselves as you will have built the correct habits

You need to duel without thinking about winning. Only think about setting your opponent up to make emotional gambles and mistakes. If you play enough, the muscle memory runs the controls and you can focus on learning how to bait your opponent into missed swings, mistimed parries, and wiffed kicks. Playing naked automatically enforces this playstle because your muscle memory needs to work precisely and instantly to avoid dying. It'll train you to win duels without parrying, which makes you able to attack almost any time. Stouty is like a corrupted monk who knows the Way but uses his knowledge to play shield. So I'm not the only one struggling with Zwei accels. They seem broken right now, no way a sword that big should move that fast and do full damage. They should ecent the glance window at the beginning of the release window. But tbh leverage isn't a thing in mordhau or else drags would be removed completely.

it's interesting watching stouty's old duels, though he was really good before when he dueled redblue you can see him get excited or panic at times but now, now he's just bored.

Only partly agree. Since the introduction of CFTP costing like 35 stam, there is no real counter to red parries anymore. This becomes very noticeable at higher level play. Depending on your reaction time and how much micro-stutter you experience in-game, if you're playing with 20+ ping, it becomes extremely hard to 'read' the difference between an insta-accel, an insta-accel that turns into a drag, and the same anim used but then feinted. If you do try to read up until the very last moment, there is a high likelihood of not being able to parry in time. Look at St0uty here vs Zwei, with 8 ping. He was unable to parry the accels when reading, even with a shield that allows him to theoretically parry even earlier due to extended parry window. That was my thesis, thank you.

Well to be fair, Pretty much anything in mordhau is guess work and realy any current first person slasher out there. For the same reasons b0nes pointed out. The real problem is that you do 100% damage upon release, Wich isnt bad in of it self but becomes a problem when you can force instant attacks. Chambering makes sence in a game like mordhau, As the stamnia pool in mordhau is very high, It regenerates quickly, Misses as well feints barely take any stamnia, So reading feints is actualy a stuppid idea, Cool but stuppid. I know, I come from Chivalry 1 and just recently been starting mordhau since chiv 1 is now truly dead, I came in mordhau with the same abilities i have in chivalry 1 but i noticed straight from the get go that reading feints or forcing misses are not the way togo in mordhau.

@@Nowhere4u2run Well not all mount and blade is for example an exception. But titles like chivalry and mordhau, Its guess work, Dont know about chiv 2 havnt tried that one as of yet. I know that chivalry 1 as well mordhau do have attacks that require you to more or less pre parry. In chivalry its reverses as well handle hits, In mordhau you also have handle hits (accels). When your playing against someone that is just going todo the same thing, Sure it wouldnt be guessing because well you know whats hes up to. But as soon your going to be fighting someone that will feint, Will do accels and over all will be diverse in the things he does. You end up guessing most of those attacks. Thats how it always has been and currently still is.

@@zanza8197 of course part of melee gaming is guesswork and when an opponent in Mordhau catches you guessing they'll potentially call you a gambler, but as we high level players say, mordhau can turn into a 50/50 sometimes. Your goal should be to optimize your gameplay and to minimize the amount of guesswork by using footwork and improving the recognition of in-game anims. However, I'm inclined to disagree with your statements that you should just chamber and not force misses or read anything. When you spend more hours in Mordhau, you'll get better and notice that eventually, the stam game becomes important. Feinting costs 10 stam and missing twice in a row doubles the stam cost of missing. Solid opponents will not allow you to regen stam when they see this and win the duel. Although I have over 2k hours in this game (dueling only) so it might take you some time to see and learn these intricacies as well (if you love the game, at least). Mordhau still has a tiny loyal fan base of solid players, but I wouldn't call the game alive, haha.

Love to see Stouty playing Mordhau again.

@buckent1379 I believe It's intentional, they know they can read and parry so they do the most basic thing to preserve stam. Parry, left overhead, parry, left overhead... rather than throwing a chamber morph feint at someone who's just gonna read it. Makes the fights look dull fs but I'm fairly certain that's the point.

you its funny watching duels like this again cause see, it becomes a stamina game "huh?" well look, think about it, tryhards complain that if the game, combat and playerbase were all on a level playing field then everything would be a stamina game, well when you watch tryhards like these fighting eachother it all comes back around to being a stamina game because they read the feints they read the accels and drags they read kicks, so because they tryhard so much their skill levels are so high they end up just fighting until someone has no stamina im just saying
