My white cane came through the post I was charged £3.50 I hate it when you do someone a favour & they abuse it! I hope you got your mask! I can see in the coming weeks my red/white cane will be needed! 6mths ago I never dreamed I would be using a blind cane! So word of advice To everyone please get your eyes checked when it's due! I have been told to keep my cane in my bag! Your too nice a person max lending your one and only stick at the time! This weekend I kept saying perhaps my eye test will be ok & glasses will help! I already have blue lenses for the phone etc! But also the realistic me is saying if I go out at night I must use the cane! I joked to myself that if people stare I won't see it! But your deafblind too max & just knowing how you cope helps! By the way I love your hair! Not seen it down much it really suits you! It covers your hearing aids! Good luck sometime this month with that test on your hearing! I watch TV a lot on my tablet as it can be close to my face! 🧡🧡🧡

I got a walking stick too I personally prefer the American term “cane”. I feel like I’m an imposter using it and I don’t derserve/not sick enough to use it how did you get out of that mentality?

Cane works for me too, idk why stick is what my mind reaches for haha. You absolutely deserve to use a cane if you need one, there is no “sick enough”. I definitely started out wondering whether it was ok for me to use a cane. I got my first one at 17 and felt like I had to hide it from my dad, but I took it on a school trip once and I realised just how much it helped me get on and get about and I just had a eureka moment of “yes, this is made for me”. Not everyone has that though, some of my friends have really had to work hard on accepting it into their lives. A lot of them did it through going without it (don’t recommend) and learning the hard way that they need it, and others just took it slowly, having it with them but only bringing it out when they really needed it, and others just threw themselves into the deep end until they got used to it. Just remember that you absolutely deserve to use something that helps when you need it, no matter what it is 🧡
