When I was younger I couldn’t go to the salon without my mom cause I was to scared to say anything so she was my back up, she knew when I looked upset or if something wasn’t going right. I couldn’t imagine just sitting there not being able to saying anything or look to anyone for help.

Moral of the story , you gotta pay attention to signs . Before she put her hands in your head you had so many signs .to me this is anywhere from a store to a restaurant if you don’t greet me once I walk in I walk right out . Customer service is KEY TO ME. Their customer service shows exactly how that person /company is .

Like never have I ever had a hot comb used on my hair for braiding, I used to have a braider that required you to have blow dried hair, then I started going to my sister's braider, I haven't gotten my braids done in a while cause I cut my hair and stuff, but she didn't use a hot comb, didn't need a hair dryer nothing, she did my hair and it came out wonderfully

NitroFairyWing A hot comb before braids is asking for excessive breakage taking out those braids. And they better not be in for a full month. 😂😂😂😂😂 Have you walking around looking like Tommy Pickles. Not I 😭😭😭😭 All it takes is a good product, and a good grip. Type 4 hair does not need heat, if you’re a good braider. I do my own braids and I have a mix of 4A/4B, never use heat. I’ve done braids on 4c hair, not using heat. Shine n jam (the red one and the green one) will change your life if you have type 4 hair.

Braiding freshly washed hair is so hard. they're so wispy I can never do it 😂 day 2 or 3 hair is the best to braid.

Where I get my hair done box braids cost 180 and lemonade braids cost 140 but it’s worth it and it lasts long 🤷🏾‍♀️

If we being honest though braiders don’t get enough respect. It’s a time consuming process and people only want to pay 50-70 to get boxbraids but will spend 100-300 for some bundles and 100-250 for a sew in, frontal, or wig install that doesn’t last for more than 3 weeks without having to go get maintenance

Prices are high now because most hairstylist only get paid if they have a client depending on where they at or they get paid close to minimum wage and plus braids look easy but lemme tell you I be breaking my back for 6+ hours and when I get done I be tired and standing up allllll the time and I’m not doing all that for $50
