She "did it" with this guy but her very Christian parents forced them to get married since he was 18 and she was 16 so they were gonna send him to jail if he didn't. Turns out she got pregnant and had a kid with him and then when he (the kid/my cousin) grew up he ended up getting mad when my aunt didn't accept his girlfriend and ended up moving out to live with his dad (the physical abuser) and now my aunt hates him. But she ended up marrying this other dude who cheated on her but then a week after found out she was pregnant with his kid. But they're suprisingly still on good terms

I don’t understand why some parents get so mad about their teenage kids just livin their lives n being in relationships- it’s not like they didn’t do shit like that when they were younger lmao (edit): i agree with the idea that parents should keep their younger teens away from sexual stuff as much as they can, but my point is that parents shouldn't go out of their way to humiliate their 16+ kids if they catch them doing stuff, instead of just having a mature conversation with them about it. It just creates bad feeling for everyone, and could possibly mess with their view of sexual interactions in the future- I'm really sorry if ive worded this badly, feel free to have a go at me if you disagree hah :,)

They might not have and we also don't know how old these people were. 13-15 year olds shouldn't really be in that type of relationship imo, especially if it could biologically lead to pregnancy. Kids need time to be kids. 16-18 year olds are older and more educated on safety and stuff and are able to make better decisions in their relationship. I don't think that in either situation marriage should be mentioned though.

A lot of relationships that young are not safe. And yeah, no issues with like a little kiss and holding hands etc. But like teenagers are technically still children and do not always think through their actions. I think taking things to an extreme like forcing kids to marry each other is too much, but there NEEDS to be mature talk and education about healthy relationships. I personally would be upset if my child were to be having sex that young. But idk that’s just me , everyone’s experiences are different. And from my experience, teen relationships can be traumatising and dangerous if kids don’t know about what makes a healthy relationship which means all sorts of trouble down the line !

If your child was driving under the influence, for example, they deserve a much harsher lesson than just a damn talk. parents limiting their young adult children and then threatening adulthood on them for doing natural things, i.e. having sex, puberty literally preps and makes your body want to do that, is so annoying to me. i agree, under a certain age, teens shouldn’t be having sex, however, that doesn’t mean you can dictate them to the point of refusing birth control, condoms, abortions. there should be consequences to being reckless, not marriage, forced labor, etc. teach your kids about safe sex, taking care of themselves and their body, understanding their body. their self-importance. the meaning of no and why it’s EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to know when to say no / listen when someone says no. as well as their limits and stuff like that. your children should be comfortable expressing their concerns and fears with you and you should be able to give or get them the proper advice. they shouldn’t fear coming to you about something potentially life threatening because you couldn’t bother teaching them / caring enough to listen before severe punishment.

And I just went "oh" but then she went "I need it bad right now Mike." And one thing lead into another, and while we were um playing video games her mom and brother got back early and almost caught us. A 15-17 Is near the end. At that age, they are closing into full blown adult hood. For men it doesn't really stop until 25. For women its closer to 17-19. In other words, the core of who you are at those ages, is who you're going to be for a couple decades. Which means they are going to do things like this. Either give them the tools and knowledge to be safe. Or take a risk. The more control that attempted over a mid to late teen, the more developmental stunting is likely. People in comment section talking about "it's teenage stuff." Yeah, that's all cool until a 13 or 14 year old pops up preggers, and now the grandparents have to support their grandkid financially, because you are not even old enough to work to support your kid yourself. Especially when the teenage boy leaves the girl after he learns he got her pregnant, because "he is just not ready for that type of responsibility" as seen all too often in society.
