You might not be able to get Karen sued for the bribe, but I'm pretty sure if she keeps up the attempt to get that 200 bucks, with frequent harassment, yeah, you got a winning case so long as you got all the receipts.

The "Dishonest and disrespectful behaviour" line is VERY rich coming from a landlady who HAS ADMITTED TO LYING AND COERCING YOU INTO MOVING OUT, deadnamed your wife, and is even now trying to scam you out of money for something you had nothing to do with. That's some real projection going on there lol.

I can't even believe the audacity of some people. Knowing Karen is likely to watch this video, I gotta hope that hearing the story shared might awaken some humanity in her, though I doubt it. I'm glad you're finally away from her and her nonsense!

It's comforting after all that to hear your father used to be a lawyer, because it sounds quite clear to me that this "Karen" deserves to be sued onto absolute oblivion. If there's any real justice in this world she ought to be left with nothing in the end.

I really sucks how awful landlords can be sometimes. Even short term rentals, like vacations, the rentals can be horrible. One summer, maybe 5 years ago my family rented a condo for a weekly vacation by the shore, but when we got there there the place was very different then what we were shown. The floors were beyond dirty, most of the house was cleaned very poorly and overall was was bad quality. One night the ceiling broke and splashed a bunch of water on one of my sleeping family members. Landlord didn’t really do anything about this after we complained and let them know. Though landlords are pretty awful in general I wish you the best of luck with your new home and I hope that you’re safe and happy and healthy in your new home. I really wish there was something legally that could be done about your landlord.

@@waterworks_yes Very well, I shall share in my suffering. You see I like most modern youngsters suffer from anxiety, this manifests in paralizing shyness which got me to not go to 3 classes after failing once and not wanting to be seen by the profesors afterwords. I am also very lazy for I am very talanted and generally dont need to work for anything. Even today Ive passed the classes I like, linguistics and folklore, without any effort. The reason I cant will myself to write the paper I need is because I just dont want to. My only life goal is to find true love and live hapilly and university doesnt play any part in that so Im completely unmotivated. Yet my parrents threaten to kick me out which makes me even more anxious, its not a real danger I will just get a job and afford my own food, but it does induse a tone of anxiety because I dont want to have to leave home life will be much harsher. But there is nothing which would make me do the university work cos I dont want to and in the grand schieme of things I dont need to. I do not live up to my name, I could do much better, so I am very depressed also. But naturally that keeps me from doing stuff. People dont get a lot of work done when they dont want to get out of bed and when confrunted with work just want to leave and go roam arround the forrest until everything is forgotten. ....

My mom and I moved into a trailer a few years back and we didn't worry about our manager... it was the neighbors. One neighbor directly next to us literally researched where we both worked. This old guy next to us went to each of our places of employment (At the time my mom was a shift manager at a local restaurant, me a cashier at Walmart) How he found out (we never listed our jobs on facebook) we don't know. Apparently he was a bit of a creep and wanted to know what renovations my mom was doing to HER HOME. It was summer and he would literally basically walk into my mothers home during the renovations because it was hot and so we propped the door open. My mom one day on her way to work saw him outside and pulled over and asked him what his deal was . She didn't want to know when he wiped his butt and he shouldn't want to know when she wiped hers. and he was livid (I was inside and heard yelling). The manager did nothing about this creepy neighbor.

Ive never met any landlords, other than my own kinsmen. You see we dont rent properties, we only live in places we own. And if a property might be empty for a while, we might rent it out for that time. I assure you all of us are noblemen so any who rent from us are treated properly. But to ensure that we may act properly we are also very picky about who we rent apartaments out to.

TLDR; My mother, sister, and I were not as thorough dealing with our landlord because he's my dad and he screwed us over royally (and broke the law but we have no way to prove it) So, had been homeless for a while. Basically, we live in an area with a very high cost of living, so my mom would either have to spend her entire paycheck on rent and barely have food or move and not have a job anymore. So we started "camping" and were for several years and it was honestly pretty fun, because that $2000 that would have gone to rent every month we got to spend on fun stuff, like concerts, going out to eat, etc., and I spent a lot of time at the library because it was comfortable and had free books and wifi. Anyway, last year my dad offered for us to move into his house. He said that he would let my mom stay until my younger sister graduated(in 2025) if we helped him remodel his house (he would let my sister and I stay regardless). So we agreed and remodeled his house for him. We have the agreement in writing, multiple times, etc. But we didn't record ourselves remodeling the house or anything. Because he's our dad, so we thought that he wouldn't do something crazy. Basically, the plan was for my dad and his wife to move from the basement bedroom to the master bedroom after the remodel, then my mom and I would take the basement bedroom since I'm only with her on weekends anyway and don't really need a whole room for myself (my sister did have her own bedroom since she's here all the time). Well, the morning after we noticed them sleeping in the master bedroom, we looked in the basement and saw that a lot of their stuff was down there still, just like random stuff like laundry and spare furniture. I asked my dad if he wanted us to move that stuff or if he would, and he said that he had to talk to my mom. So after remodeling his house for him, he tells us that actually he changed his mind and that he was going to kick my mom out in June, but we're welcome to stay still. Obviously we declined because he took advantage of our labor (and our money, we paid for half of the supplies we used!!) and he was a shitty parent before that. Skip forward a couple months, to this week. He tells my sister (not even my mom!) that if when we move out we go back to camping and don't have an actual house he will take my mom to court to fight for custody of my sister (I turn 18 before June, otherwise he would fight for custody of me too). So now all of our summer plans are down the drain since we'll be struggling to afford even just food, and Mom naively filed her taxes with her husband she's separated from because "it's easier" and she didn't know our entire lives would be turned upside down, so she doesn't even qualify for food stamps because she "owns a house and has a $60k household income" (even if we wanted to go back to her husband, my sister has a restraining order against him and he's selling his house this year)

  • @nyandoesthings

    @nyandoesthings

    Жыл бұрын

P.S. He's not invited to my graduation. Like I said he was already a shitty parent and like I didn't mention I'm transgender, I was unable to hop through all the legal loopholes in time to get my name changed on my graduation paper and it distressed me so much I tried failing classes so I wouldn't be able to graduate. My school counselor talked me out of doing that, but graduation will still be a very volatile day for me because of it, and I don't need any added stressors (other than him screwing us over, he's transphobic towards me which is not what I need at that moment). I'm letting him come to anything else, though I doubt he will show up since he hasn't shown up for anything since 8th grade (including my birthdays; hasn't even texted me 'happy birthday'). I know I can't be happy if I'm mad at him and I don't think I am anymore. I'm leaving the door open but I'm not trying to lead him to it anymore. He can find it himself. Or he can't. It doesn't matter to me.

The first apartment company for my old apartment were basically slum lords, barely took care of the place while trying to squezze the tenants dry for every little thing. At some point several units (including my fiance and I's) were infested with both roaches AND mice. I painstakingly trapped and released all of the mice myself (about one per night for a few weeks, plus a couple disgusting sessions of cleaning droppings), but the roaches we just and to deal with. Eventually they sold the complex to some different people who were actually reputable. Two, TWO extermination cleanings later (free of charge), and we never saw another roach again. It was that fucking easy the whole time. They also left crucial information about an automatically renewing lease out of the physical copy by, I shit you not, _having it be cut off the page in a copier error,_ but found a loop hole by stating it clearly in an online copy we would lose access to but they could still pull up whenever they wanted. Essentially making it so we would have to commit that tiny piece of info to memory with no way to refer back to it if we wanted to not get trapped or pay a huge fee because it was technically still completely legally binding. Classy.

I know theres a huge earned distrust toward landlords (why are they called lords in english anyway??) but Ive actually got a very nice and considerate landlord and maybe hearing about it might restore some faith in humans. So Ive been unemployed for health reasons for years, and thus living on benefits. Both of these things are generally considered absolute trash traits in tenants who are looking to rent and Ive been treated like trash when apartment hunting. My current landlord not only considered me (and my cat) for tenancy right off the bat but hasnt raised rent in the 2,5 yrs Ive lived here (my contract does state rent can be raised once a year). I invited her to coffee to discuss some water bill issue she wanted to talk about, she brought cake. Good cake. Last summer her young adult daughter who lives across the street got a cat and Ive been their go-to catsitter ever since, pays me fair and the cat is adorable. Did I mention my rent is a good chunk lower than the average for the area and the apartment is almost brand new and includes dishwasher?

Interestingly I have a similar story. My mom wasn’t able to pay rent to our landlord for december because he 1. changed the company to pay to, did not notify us until after it was supposed to be paid 2. cancelled the contract with the company after my mom tried for weeks to pay the rent 3. would not respond to emails asking how to send payment which all culminated in him getting a lawyer and trying to take us to court, only to realize my mom had receipts for everything that happened and he had no legal ground to stand on. my mom has decided this is her final straw after him severely neglecting the house for years (our neighbor has had to call him over every problem we’ve had before it ever got fixed) and we’re moving out this month here’s a fun little list of stuff the landlord has tried not to fix: - holes in our outer walls allowing opossums to get in between the first and second floor and run around there (resolved by the neighbor complaining about it) - our fence falling apart and causing my dog to get loose often (he has ptsd from our old neighbor and cannot be around people outside of our house besides my dad) (this was resolved by the neighbor calling him because our fence was technically on his property and he wanted to redo it so he had the full of his property) - when we moved into this house the oven gave off such severe carbon monoxide we couldn’t use it and had to microwave food for the first 2 weeks while he procrastinated replacing it and installing carbon monoxide detectors - the tiles in my rooms shower falling off because the wall behind was rotting. this has still never been fully fixed

“Punishment” she’s not your god damn parent lol she dosnt have a leg to stand on but even if she did the only has the rights to charge fees based on actual damages she can’t just decide randomly that you owe her money because she thinks you did something wrong. My sister had a similar story to this when she still lived in her home town and seeing my sister cry and break down about it made me want to fight the woman. She started off really nice and considerate, fixing things that needed to be fixed to the best of her ability and even gave my sister and her roommate free fresh eggs from her chicken coup. Then like a year before my sister moved to Manhattan with her boyfriend she started treating her and her roommate like god damn shit, blaming her for multiple broken things when they weren’t her fault and just…going way beyond just scolding her and the stuff she said to her was disgusting. She dosnt live there anymore thankfully and is happily living with her boyfriend in a really nice place

Wow she sounds like a total nightmare to deal with! I don't know how anyone could be that cruel.. That said I disagree that all landlords are bad but I admit I am biased. My mom is a landlord though she never wanted to be. We couldn't sell the house she inherited even when it was cheaper than it's worth so it's either use it or let it rot. I'm in one part but we don't need 2 extra apartments so we rent them out. Does that make us shitty? We can't just give it for free because it takes money to keep everything working. Usually more is used back into the house than is gained in rent. She's always bending over backwards to try and help and keep everyone happy. It just sucks because I don't think she should be lumped in with those slumlords that buy a bunch of houses to profit off of people. I've also had garbage landlords but I have also seen trashy tenants so I can understand both sides somewhat. Besides people trashing the place we've had abandoned animals and one even tried to burn the house down. There are shitty people on all sides.

It's by a company I'm pretty sure, our fridge broke a year after moving in and it was replaced, for some reason we have a good freezer in the backyard just sitting there for like a year now and the management still hasn't come to take it :/ Anyway my parents are usually the landlords, I doubt they're as shitty tho, one of our tenant families was on a trip out of the country so my dad took that time to fix their bathtub or something

Scrolled to see if Karen responded to this vid since she watches your content. Thankfully nothing but support down there as far as I looked ✨ Feel free to pin her if you see it so we can all meet her 😊

I wonder if she was harassing you both (ex. the dead naming) because she didn't agree with your way of life and your disability? Hopefully I worded that right. That's what this sounds like to me and depending on how the laws work where you live you can pursue legal action for discrimination and hate and keep all your emails and communications with this person. I think you can even sue for the bribery too.

There’s nothing inherently bad about being a landlord. This one seemed to suck tho

Why didn't she kick out the animal abuser?? You could try crowdfunding for legal action. DissociaDID successfully saved their channel that way, though it was really stressful. They also live in Britian, the legal codes might be different.
