If Papyrus becomes ruler in one of the Neutral Endings he says Sans actually works hard and that he’s proud of him. Sans can work hard when it counts.

My Theory for this timeline is that he, Paps, and Gaster were the royal family in this world, Gaster either rejected the position of king to be the royal scientist or was king and fell into the core, and Sans had to take over. Also it should be stated that Sans HATED the idea of being king, knowing that it’s be a miserable position, but he knew that it was a position that his brother wouldn’t have the heart to reject if it fell to him, so Sans begrudgingly took over to spare his brother

* *it's a beautiful day outside, today, right?* * *you can hear the birds singing.* * *if ya ask me, that's a super wholesome thing to have.* * *well.....usually.* * *sorry, kid.* * *no promises stopping me from what i gotta do.* *BRRRRRRRRR....* *BLAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!-* - *WHAT A DRAMATIC TURN OF EVENTS, DARLING.* - *LETS SHOW HIM SOME LOVE!*

i feel like the reason sans has one defense is because he was just wearing shorts flipflops and a light jacket then theres the fact that hes kinda lazy which could effect his natual defense the one attack could just him being too depressed to really go at it full force but who knows maybe they both have something to do with a virus or injury here hes actually wearing armor and a little more active being a good king you cant be 100% lazy

Undyne has full armor and has 0 def. So regular clothing doesn’t mean anything, you have to be wearing equipment that counts as armor (which Undyne’s apparently isn’t). In Undertale, when you have 0 atk, the game defaults it to 1 atk. So the lowest normal stats a character could have is 1 hp, 1 atk, and 0 def. I do agree that King Sans is likely not lazy.

I think sans could use yellow attacks but he became magic blind in his left eye cause papyrus can use blue magic and in other fandom's when he awakens he uses yellow(disbelief papyrus) so if he wasn't magic blind in his left eye he would do the yellow and blue attacks
