I never thought of it that way. I used to assume it was because I was viewed as unattractive! I guess you should always approach the person, because you never know what the end result will be. What's the worst that could happen? They say no, and life continues the way it was...but if they say yes...both lives could change for the better.

Click Click Yes, it’s preference. In middle school, white boys talk about how fine a girl looks with a dark tan. When one of those white guys decides to cross the race line; he often goes for the really dark girls!

I should clarify, I had a boyfriend a couple of years before meeting Ryan, but I moreso approached him and he never took me out. But yeah...no one really thought I was beautiful in high school at least. I was always the girl who was left standing at dances, while everyone else was paired up. Could be because I was the only Black girl? I'm not sure. I might touch more on it in a video.

I can totally relate as me and my sis brought black folks to our school. :) But there were a few white guys who had crushes. This was also back in the 70's when interracial anything was taboo. I'm glad he wasn't afraid either as you too are such a cute couple. :)

Thank you! I definitely did not feel pretty. I was usually the only person who didn't get asked to dance when a slow song came on at a school dance. It wasn't until I was 18 years old that I started to embrace myself. 😊

I discovered your channel recently and I love it already!♥️ I've not been in a committed relationship as yet but I refuse to worry about it. I always love hearing stories about how couple's met. I been married 20 yrs. Back in 8th grade my now brother in law and I met, his sister lived across the country. So flash forward 10 yrs and I finally meet his sister and that was it. Of course my father in law always thought high of me because I was in the military. I honestly wasn't looking either because I was getting sent half way across the country, but love doesn't stop because you ain't looking, it slaps you and says "look dummy I'm here". Hi Lexa, you guys have a beautifull family. My family is also bi-racial and we also have 3 kids -but almost grown up (18, 16 and 12). My husband was the nerd of my middleschool (most handsome very shy even) and I was the sassy jokester tomboyish than no one pay attention. He went to other HS, one day we meet and knowing he is so shy I sayd: "Hey, Im going to the carnival with my parents and cousin. BE READY!" So we went, he gets jealous of my cousin and then he kept asking me to be his girlfriend for 9 month. I said to my self: "lets give it a try". And "the try" is being 20 years. THE KEY IS TRUST, RESPECT, TEAMWORK AND LOVE.
