John Stephen Akwari, a Tanzanian athlete who joined the Olympic Games held in Mexico in 1968. While all spectators were cheering, looking at the finish line as almost every athlete had passed, there was this guy who fell to the ground many times. each time, he dragged himself up & continued to run, bleeding & grimacing in agony. His feat dazzled the audience who then started to focus their eyes on him. Despite knowing that he won't be able to beat the other sprinters, akwari still went on to reach the finish line. He got a well-deserved applause from the crowd. when asked by the media why he continued the race, he humbly replied, "My country did not send me 9,000 miles to start the race. They sent me 9,000 miles to finish the race" Like Akwari, "GIVING UP WAS NEVER ON MY AGENDA"

God called you to finish the race not to quit in the middle of your Christian journey. You might stumble or fall but it's ok, get up and continue ur run. God's grace is sufficient for you.

it is criminal, disturbing and pitifully PC that the music "The Lord Shall Reign" Handel... i think it is from "Israel Out of Egypt" have been removed from this updated version.... it is so much lamer than the original. btw, how do you suppose a man from Tanzania got the names "John" and "Stephen"?? just wondering. Amen.

I am hurting today, like I often hurt lately. I am alone and unsteady. But many people's lives are lonely and unsure these days. But my hope is in my Savior. For some reason, I felt a kinship with you today, 9 years after you wrote your own thoughts. I don't know who you are, but I want to thank you. I was lifted in my spirit by your heart-felt words. You are right. The world refuses to acknowledge, much less appreciate, worship of Jesus Christ. Akhwari and Handel both gave their gifts to God and worshipped Him, the One Who authored their excellence! Their gifts minister power, strength, and beauty to us years later, those of us who are currently struggling to finish well. I pray that our hearts will learn obedience through the things we suffer, for the glory and praise of Almighty God, our Savior. (Hebrews 5:8) Be well, dear friend. I pray you are faithfully lifted in your spirit, as you have faithfully lifted me! In Jesus' beautiful name. ❤️ from Atlanta, Georgia
