The fact that I build my hulls completely differently just shows that there is no correct way of building, and that makes Stormworks beautiful. Great video!

Nice tutorial! I'm still quite new to the game and on a steep learning curve atm trying to learn about stability and best hull shapes. I've just started a lets play series in career mode and my boat doesnt seem very stable in windy conditions... guessing because of my hull shape as I didnt go for a flat bottom but went for a pointy bottom! Subbed :)

Most likely. But Stormworks is not very forgiving even for nicely shaped hulls with wide and flat bottoms. If the wind picks up too much you will end up flying no matter how boat shaped or any other shaped your vehicle is :)

the bow of the ship is a piece of cake for me, but my biggest fear is the stern, i see flat sterns as pretty ugly and curved/round sterns makes your ship look amazing. maybe do a tutorial for sterns?

This is a great tutorial, can you do a stern tutorial next? Because I'm kinda stuck on it and there are no good tutorials on it

just stated stormworks and did know that you could make the hull that easily. i was placing angled blocks 1 by 1 didnt even think about the drag function

1600hr in this game and this is super helpfull lol

Its kind of hard since you can make your bridge in any crazy way. Ill think about it and see if I can come up with some general idea of how to make them though.

at 520 (around 350 of which spent building) hours, still struggling with bows sometimes.

what abt the stern, also my hulls always have a glitch with stability(even when i stretch other peoples hulls) where it keeps rolling over to one side, when i add stabilizers it continuously rolls the ship over with no way to stop it

Stern is basically the same as the bow but you just do it shorter. If you have an active stabilizer that is rolling your ship the signal might be backwards. You can use a function -x inside your logic to invert the signal or make the tilt sensor face the opposite direction.

I managed to do the bow once. Thought my ship was a little too wide so I tried to make it more narrow and suddenly nothing I do seems to work even after watching this a few minutes and copying everything

To make the hull narrower or wider, I will usually cut both sides and then move them in/out and forwards or backwards enough to line up with the tip of the bow. So in the case of making it narrower, cut both sides completely, then move them inwards and forwards then paste and merge.

how did you get the windows like that i see it all the time yet i cannot do it

XML editing. You can get a window pack off the workshop or learn to XML edit yourself and make the windows exactly how you need them.

Start with doors. The character model is 7 blocks tall, so most rooms will be 7-8-9 blocks tall, then you can put windows in and then you can start shaping with wedges around the windows and doors.

Click and drag the block inside the hull, blocks cant connect to the angled sides of wedges so you can pull it all the way through to the front and only the blocks that are in valid places, aka inside the hull, will attach.

Sometimes its about where your camera is looking so try moving around a bit, holding shift while you drag can also change the orientation of the drag.

Meanwhile I keep placing one pyramid and then deleting it, spending hours trying to get a smooth hull.
