    Looks better and better with every week passed. The people starting to figure out how to actually play the game and using the units correctly. Very promising

    During the open, every time that I A-moved my big infernal army in one blob, thinking my two base opponent could never win... I got kited back and destroyed by vanguard. Conversely every time I backstabed dropped or came in from different angles for a surround, I had success. Definitely feels like a strategy game were my decision making is more important than how fast I can click.

    No. Multiple prone attacks are essentially about how fast you can click. That's why you have triple prone attacks in sc2, out multitasking the opponent. Unless your opponent doesn't know how to split up units (splitting up units is multi tasking, all about mechanics),

    @@etismyname I agree that multi prong attacks in Starcraft do indeed require high apm to execute and defend! In this game that I'm talking about Stormgate, the lethality of units is lower. I found I was able to execute and defend against multi prong attacks and drops with my slow apm much more effectively in this game. Instead of my drop being instantly destroyed because I wasn't paying attention as it flew over a turret I was alerted 'were under attack' and was able to save the drop and come in from a different angle. Instead of hearing an alert and looking over to see, oh my mineral line is dead already from a mine drop, instead I see gaunts attacking, I can pull away workers and bring units to defend. Of course a higher apm will let you harass and execute multiprong BETTER than a low apm, just look at PartinG's winrate. It should be this way, reward those players for their skill. My personal experience in Stormgate compared to sc2 specifically was that my speed wasn't as critical, that I had more time to react and make a decision that mattered. Both on the offense and defense.

    Considering that we only have T2 units, and T3 units are not in the game yet - the Demon units are looking great. Human units still do need more differentiate them, both visually and functionally. But yeah for the early state the game is in it's looking great

    I know it is still in development but I do really hope they will add information about units produced/lost etc like in SC2. I really miss that information during the beta games I watched.

    Not sure if devs will read this but: The Hellborn seems like a good unit now. I just hope the T3 infernal units will provide a good answer to these vanguard death balls though. Now it seems that vanguard beats infernal in lategame allmost every time. Hard to judge withouth all units in the game obviously.

    Idk. It's starcraft 2 in almost everything from visual point, but warcraft in gameplay. I'd love to see a new RTS, but I don't see why this exists in the current state. Looks more like a SC2 modded map.

    They need to add more information on the replay page, e.g. supply count, luminite and thereum count. I think that way, watching the game cast will be more interesting and we know who is winning.

    Vanguard seemed really protoss ball this game. The infernal player at least tried to do some side hustles.

    Would be better when gaunts have an activated ability that deal more damage and have a middle cooldown like 15 seconds and fiens only spawned when a unit is killed by this ability. Otherwise the current ability snowballs too strong. The economy is too simplified in Stomrgate. You should have more freedom where you build up your economy. Would be cool to have auto generated maps so scouting is more fun and fun game modes like nomade are possible.

    Probably be a full year until there's a BIG set of campaign missions, they're planning to release them in small, regular packs. At least the first ones will be free since the game is F2P so no cost to try them out

    Sounds like so many lessons from sc2 apply here as well, so we can use whats figured out there. For example keeping hellborne centralized or army split isnt new. It would be a shame if the game has to tread down the same steps in evolution though

    "you gotta go for magmadons vs lancers" Anyone else here thinks that it's stupid that you need infernal T2 units to beat vanguard's basic unit? Like I get the whole infernal and the free units mechanic but if it means that infernal T1 units are useless outside of rushes then screw that.

    glad to see dog micro nerf, hopefully they change some more stuff up. Not being able to react or even interact with a late game army not my idea of fun. yes we get it infernal mass apparently, but you literally just bleed until you die late game. before this patch it was literally by the game engines standards, impossible to catch a dog. Why are all the infernal mechs make more units and all the vanguard mechs gain ms? its fucking stupid and honestly doesn't give me good hope for the direction of the game. Don't make long range high-speed gunmen and then give zero options like fungal or remotely fast units to catch their army. it felt like if I didn't kill them in PS In case you were wondering fiends were slower than lancers with 2 hits on them. Honestly after the elephant patch open "beta" (clearly more like an alpha but that's fine as long as their taking critiques which seems like they are! :) Just kinda sick of dev studios lying and shit with the new AAAA bs coming out too, just say its an open alpha, unless there's so much content under nda which is fucking stupid to have an open alpha and tell everyone its a beta. This game is clearly not even close to release)

    Balance vent because im bad at the game: yea hopefully they fix the game when it releases, Interaction isn't possible from both sides yet so its throw your best units and whoever is more tuned wins. Wish they thought about that even remotely before releasing this beta. it feels like there is no interaction after 8 min. when the vanguard player has upgrades you can literally ice-skate around the infernal. Infernal don't have a catch option. The reason why the viper is so good is because, (first of all the pull range is almost double) and its flying meaning the tool it uses to reposition enemies can actually be used. They literally thought about the weaver while in a dream with no gameplay decision making at all. " uuhhh it does like 10 hits to kill anything in the game, we'll have it attack slower than elephants in aoe2, and give the viper pull but halve that range and make it slow af and impossible to maneuver, we don't want people to think we're copying sc2 now. " The design of the infernal is very clearly taking a backseat comparted to, oh lets give it 3 abilities 1 heal a debuf cleanser and an aoe dmg/heal and it can attack air too. now the upgrade for the main battle units lets give it %inc attkspd and mspd for every attack and inc the range by 1 that'll make it more fun and interactable. can you tell I'm salty? I in no way expected the game to be done, but with all of they hype they generated and promised as the future of rts I'm extremely disappointed that the only thing I liked about the open beta was that the engine was so smooth. Like I understand that this was the major thing ppl were talking about "it feels just like starcraft mb even better" and yea it does engine-wise. But that's it the game looks great and the engine plays great, but that's all. The interactions between units seem haphazardly created, and hopefully they are in the mindset to completely rework it over and over like they did with the gaunt changes. Infernal feels too slow and has no interactions between vanguard past their upgrade timing, vanguard doesn't macro fast enough or doesn't have proper early game interactions. The game feels with all of the mechs that are currently in place, like a game where the OBJ is to avoid your opponent. I mean free units if they die for infernals completely outrange and gun on vanguard late game.

    I refuse to kickstarter until they nerf Exo's. Cause people saying "just wait for t3" like vanguard arent just all going to mass build exos in t3 anyway lmao. Please god dont make this game like SC2 where the best fucking race just builds 2-3 unit deathball and wins everytime it literally killed the game, please dont let it happen to this gem.

    Balance is all over the place, I can almost guarantee they'll get massively nerfed AND buffed over the coming months. Don't expect them to aim for more solid balance until early access

    They are making video games easier and easier so younger kids will play them because younger kids (10-12) buy more than half of the micro transactions in video games and the developers make more money on micro transactions than the actual purchase price.

    thats because PiG is hardstuck in a trash elo, he has no idea what hes talking about. in the open beta, the top 25 were all vanguard, vanguard overall had nearly 300+ rating higher then the best inferno player. i think inferno feels weak atm cause we don't have access to t3, i feel like theres going to be a couple of units in t3 that are fast (like a fast flyer) etc.

    I’ve got no issue with the race as a whole, but tier 1 units should be hard countered by late game tech. Maybe tier 3 will address this

    Unfortunately I just see 2 army blobs hit each other until one army blob won. They looks like slippy sliding amoebas, not like a squad of soldiers vs. a demon horde. Nothing interesting.

    so the vanguard player uses a small-minion army clumped up against the strongest inferny aoe-long range and still wins..... Inferny in mid-late game feels like the most useless race ever.

    ​@@wojciechszatko The game seems to be designed to encourage infernal throwing units to their death (Animus) and Vanguard keeping their units alive (Veterancy). Without t3 units right now infernal cannot fight vanguard's death ball directly. I think a lot of low apm players are very frustrated using infernal into vanguard because in an a move vs a move fight vanguard destroys infernal

    Terran players mistake stutter stepping with skill when it’s just click 3 buttons quickly like it’s Minecraft pvp, and when they don’t win because they get out-flanked, out-multi-pronged or beaten by superior army composition they whine and call for nerfs. Looks like history will repeat itself here as well with the vanguard death ball

    The thing about Infernals is that you get map control, creep income, free units via creep kills, and much faster expansions to the point where, if Vanguard units were comparable in power to Infernal equivalents, it would be literally impossible to for a Vanguard player to ever beat an Infernal player unless the Infernal player just afks the whole match. Vanguard cannot really go creeping, expand, or be aggressive early or else they auto-lose instantly, so they kind of have to have absurd units to justify having so many early disadvantages. Infernals have all of these to their advantage in exchange for super meh units because if those meh units were good, the matchup would be 1-sidedly impossible...aka exactly how things were not too long ago to the point of RTS pros outright stating this and creating a pretty bad game state that wasn't good for publicity.
