Hi there. Could you, and would you use this on external Bath stone window sills and door jams etc, or are rhey best left natural?

I no I wouldn't

Ive used this a few times on chimneys works very well and a good belt and braces on exposed properties after reepointing and ree fluanching.

I normally let fresh pointing cure 6 weeks minimum How long do you normally wait

@@GMTpointingspecialistsltd the last job was around 5 weeks not ideal but the scafold was needing to come down. Normally I would leave 6 weeks or longer and if walls apply it working off my tower / ladders.

@matthewingham7806 hi yes but it tends to not last as long as masonry that water can sit on top off as walls it just runs down

Do you brush or roll it on Glen

I brush it on you can get a thicker application that way

Are there occasions where you might use this over lime mortar pointing?

Yes you can on certain buildings english herritage allowed it But always try to lime wash it first Rather than using a sealer

I’ve used this several times, I like that the building can still breathe through it. I’ve always wondered how long to leave fresh mortar before you can storm dry it especially lime. How long would you leave it Glen?

@diddywright6165 leave it as long as you can 6 weeks minimum gives the mortar time to cure
