    Stefan is a tank veteran, so he knows that if you don't tension the track you will walk it off and you will do it in the mud. And your gunner will hate you, and your driver will hate you.....

    The chieftain is banned from most tank museums because he keeps tensioning the tracks. He has been warned repeatedly but he just can't help himself.

    cannot believe how much space is inside after sticking a 75 in a 9 ton tank. Tardis terrific. all vehicles were retrofitted with 105 mm guns in 1946.

    want to congratulate the folks who restored and prepared this vehicle for display, and the people taking care of it today It looks like it just rolled out of the factory :) And thank you very much for showing us a vehicle we might not get to see outside of old pictures and maybe a scale model or two.

    Extremely interesting vehicle! Maybe it would be an idea to have a follow-up video that includes more detailed specs about the gun, the armour and the engine. It would also be highly interesting to see how this vehicle did in the field. Does any footage of it exist?

    I play WOT and I've had one of these for about a year now. But, WOT designates it as a tank destroyer. It wasn't until recently that I learned the best way to play it and now it's a real killer. Same tier as the Hetzer and just as deadly, but a bit more pen and armor!

    @@even5149 Actually there were two "Marder IIIs"; the first one might have been a real Marder III Ausf. M and was set on fire with Molotov Cocktails. The other one I'm talking about shot the tower killing Pvt. Jackson (the sniper) but later was destroyed by Sgt.     Most of your vehicles seem like they are in very good condition. Could you maybe, in future videos, explain the current status of the vehicle? (Are they runners/ are they complete but not ready to drive/ are major internal parts like the engine/gearbox missing).

    When I was in the museum, quite a few vehicles there where muddy. They have a small track behind the museum hall where they run vehicles time to time. That is great museum, not far from Stockholm, highly recommended.

    All of them are in running condition, since the vehicles in the building are in fact the entire AFV fleet of the Swedish army. We just keep them in Strängnäs over summer, when the armed forces take their vacation. B)

    glad that the museum left the machine guns on these tanks..even if they are reproductions. So many tank museums take the machine guns OUT of the tanks.. such a bore.

    In the shot at 9:45, I wish the camera wasn't so close. Which side of the vehicle is he on? Where is the turret. This shot is too close and I actually have no idea where he is on the Tank.

    I agree it would have been nice to see the position, perhaps opening the roof. No turret, not a tank, but rather a self propelled gun; roughly same layout. What you see there to his right, is the lifted roof which the model below shows the raised roof at the front of the opening, including the handle and pads. So he is in the loader's position behind the driver on the rights side of the vehicle. plasticwarfare.se/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/DSC_0495_cc-600x408.jpg As he mentions, the gunner is down and to the left while the commander's periscope is behind the gunner. Other clues, look outside the SPG 9:33 you can see the horizontal florescent lights on the building wall which are to the front (seen in earlier footage), while over his left shoulder is the open second story, putting him on the right side of the vehicle.

    Very interested to see the little known (here anyways) Swedish armour. I heard the Czech 38T tanks had bad problems with spall. I guess the steel was brittle. It would have been nasty.

    We wanted to give the exhibition a bit more life, and not just parked on the floor as in most museums. Lot of visitors say it looks more like a proper museum than a garage.

    Good video, but if I had to make a suggestion, it would be to run the audio through an EQ to pull out some of the lower mids and increase the highs a bit. Stefan has a pretty deep voice and the recording gets a little bit muffled as a result.

    Actually Germany had planed an invasion in Sweden, based on information from the German planes flying over from Norway, but "sadly" this was avoided by the happenings around Stalingrad - and a very fine and funny film was lately made about a German Junckers plane landing in Sweden, during those flights!

    If you are the kind of person who comments: " it's a shame we never got to see how it would have performed in real combat" -Then yes. Most swedish-born Swedes have never experienced war, and I dare to say, we are very thankful for that. This is a history lesson that teaches you that war can be avoided, but it can't be ignored.

    Maybe someone who's younger would be a much better face for the channel. Stephan is an expert no doubt but he does not do well in front of a camera. He is super tense and something about his constant traumatized face is well lack luster.
