Planes are designed to withstand lightning strikes. The lightning goes around the outside of the body and dissipates out from the wings. An individual plane gets struck about once every year. They’re extremely safe.

@@vstreamix tropical weather in Florida makes thunderstorms more intense and more frequent lightning

+Neta Bolt (Neta1991) but nevermind! that night we had a very loud thunderstorm with multiple cells. the thunder was continious and also the lightning was nonstop. the last cell we had was like very loud and very bright and i witnessed two lightningstrikes with an awesome thunder, it was very close. i do allot about eiting so the video would be next week maybe. but i dont mind editing now because there is a chance for even more thunderstorms this night. like i said, the thunderstorms getting stronger and stronger and this night was extreme. i was a bit over enthousiastic and i hope the enxt storm i would stay calm and just enjoy the thunder without me yelling about how awesome it is. (i think i gonna cut my shoutings and enthousiastic laughter that is very childish. next storm i gonna whisper or just say nothing.. but like i said, the video editing takes much time.. In Oostkamp there was a Whirlwind (small Tornado) en very big hail. much rain. i live in Bruges (Brugge)

It's the turbulence created by updraughts and downdraft within the storm cloud that you need to worry about.
