Anyone putting this down as not *real* barbershop has no idea what they are talking about. You can only do so much with your vocal talent, but there is absolutely no substitute for a PERFORMER who has showmanship. These guys are incredibly talented and it's not only very well sung but entertaining.

But please Barbershop fans, do not forget the 1950 International Quartet Champions - The Buffalo Bills. They were the first to sing this in the original 1957 Broadway stage version of The Music Man and then again in the 1962 movie. Their chords just ring!

Wow. Singers forget regular lyrics but these guys sang an incredibly incoherent mixed version at the end with perfect accuracy. Respect for the comedic creativity, the great talent and HARDWORK to perform this!

Great comment! If you haven't had the chance, check out Storm Fronts' last song under the U tube video "2010 Storm Front". The Song "Jukebox Saturday Night" will blow you away with the qualities you mention above, comedic creativity, great talent and hardwork. It may be the finest example of their unique talent and work ethic.

All comedy schtick aside, the majority of points to win International come from the music. If SF wasn't technically excellent, the performance wouldn't have won anything even while wowing the audience. Doing credible comedy while maintaining tonal credibility and keeping it together is something extremely rare. Storm Front should be congratulated, not panned.

In as much as different people's taste differ, but for the love of music, acappella or barbershop music should be a stop-and-listen thing.

Incredible! Perfect harmony, and incredible "Three Stooges" level comedy. Well done, and it took an incredible performance to beat Old School.

It was recently revealed in the Shop Chat interview with Storm Front, that their baritone, Darin Drown, was the arranger of this piece (along with Jukebox Saturday Night.) It was also revealed that the idea for this song came from their bass, Syd Libsack.

When they started, I knew they couldn't possibly do a conventional take on that great old classic. I was waiting for the other shoe to drop, and when it did, I wasn't disappointed. Great comedic premise--the lovely (and totally fictitious) Miss Quackenbush was too busy coaching Old School to show up for her part in the performance. Maybe eventually she'll appear on stage, but don't hold your breath. The slapstick jokes are funny and fresh. The finale with the mashup of the two songs is pure artistry, especially the two "dong ding"s. If you haven't watched this recently, you owe it to yourself to do so.

Not much on the internet has ever made me laugh as hard as i did just now.

I have loved this song since I was a kid and watched and memorized the soundtrack of "The Music Man". This is a wonderful AND HILARIOUS rendition!!! Thanks, guys!!!

A rare combination of original good comedy and very good singing.

I couldn't agree more. I believe Storm Front to be special and unique.

They performed at my school tonight, and I can't even describe how amazing these guys are in person! They're very nice as well, and they knew my father for his involvement in the barbershop world. I couldn't imagine meeting nicer guys.

It's almost a decade old, and still great to see and hear!

God that was hilarious... Never thought I could marvel at incredible singing and laugh hysterically at the same time.

They have every detail pinned down, even the green socks! These guys are pros.

This stands the test of time. It gets better and better!!

The whole character of these guys is what makes it different from any other music form. I applaud there use of humor.

Absolute pleasure listening to this with headphones. That one chord at 1:15 blew me away.

Got to see Storm Front live last month in Colorado. I laughed myself sick. If you get a chance, see them live, you certainly won't regret it! They are amazing and unique!

How they managed to mash up Lida Rose and Dream of Now so humorously and effectively, I'll never know. Wonderful stuff. I'm a choir member and I know. :O

These guys came to Brisbane today at my high school (St.Laurences) and they sounded superb and perfect, and they are hilarious!

From experience, barbershop music has proven to be the most difficult but best to listen kind of music. Storm Front is one group I have come to love so much. Energy, fun, progression, chords....just name them. They got it all. God bless you guys.

Saw these guys live in Durango. They were both great vocally and comedically.

Very entertaining. Just when I thought all that could have possibly done with this old chestnut had been done, they really amped it up! Bravi!

Funny!!! Great sound too - actually mixed the two songs together well!

An absolute laugh riot! Reminds me of some of the stuff FRED used to do. The bit with the music stand up and down, along with mixing the two parts, great stuff!

this show is from a musical i was lucky enough to perform professionally, where a barbershop quartet starts singing, and the character "Marian" starts singing the other track. so the phone was supposed to be him txting her asking her if shes there or something, then calling her... but that is the fun to the end of it, theyre singing both tracks, musical arrangement and performance are both on par of genius

They put on an amazing show. IT will keep you rolling in the isles for a full thirty minutes.

Now here is a quartet that gets a little too dependent on their sheet music... So funny... Great job. I am going to see what else you have posted.

I'm a 40-something year old punk/goth/ hippie/metal head (Gemini, obviously)... but raised on classic music and comedy/film. These guys are killing me! Do they cover any Pirates of Penzance?

I LOVE Comedy quartets and have been blessed to have had a chance to woodshed with some truly great ones, but Storm Front epitomizes the term Champion (comedy or otherwise) Hey! I live in Denver now! I might have to see if they're up for a little "Coney Island Baby!

I love how they are not only singing but their also teaching opposites!! like the opposite of high Is low.

Excellent harmony! Something missing in popular music today. Mostly because it requires too much work.

No, no, no, you've got it all wrong. It's so easy now, and BETTER, because you can just sing the song once, artificially double-track it, and auto tune it to the harmony! No need for skill or character anymore!

They sang the song live, without musical recording. I've been to many recording sessions and am very familiar with stacked tracks. You either have no idea of what you were watching or have never been involved ib professional gospel quartet or barbershop quartet singing.

No, 4-part harmony just went out of style, much to our dismay. *Please* don't be one of those jack-offs going off about how "today's kids don't know real hard work." There are plenty of hard working modern musicians out there. 4-part harmony just isn't in style anymore.
