Hope all our liveaboard friends are safe well; this is one aspect we do not miss that comes with messing about in boats x
i reckon you were there an hour after me Mike!! Ive never seen it as high as it was at Trent Lock. The Derwent came across over the Crockers Farm marina in 2012 when I was moored there.
Where were you November 2000? It was much worse then

I filmed the lock in 2007 - it wasn't as bad that day, but could have got worse after I filmed.

I remember it well, I was in the thick of it as I worked at Marshalls, what is now the lorry place.
It went like this back in 2020 … 2000 was pretty bad too … I was regularly moored there back then … hope everyone is ok…

It's called humour, something we all need more of.

@@gordanmilne7034 I have a fairly vast grasp of humour. Something about several decades stuck on planet Earth and not spending all my time flying around all of time and space. I was more curious to know if there was a story behind the little blue box as Mike tends to have more knowledge about the waterways than most.

I don't know, just noticed it. I guess it was a bollard or something and someone thought it would make a nice mini TARDIS!

They are on floating platforms so look very similar to normal only with more water around the edges!

If I was on a canal boat I would much prefer to be in a marina rather than somewhere on the canal system.
Filmed it in Summer 2007, but the first flood which I think wasn't as bad as the second, but it looks like 2000 was the worst. I thought it was bad when I filmed this in 2007: kzread.info/dash/bejne/ioCOk6WwZpvckaQ.html
Got too fish the pools now or the fish just die.
