i went to xinjiang before covid. it was not what I expected. i was pleasantly surprised. love from canada.

Xianjiang is a beautiful place. Each time I watched places in China, am amazed firstly how modern it is - infrastructure, building and people seem to be very we'll fed!

As long as you learn a little more about Xinjiang's Uyghurs, you will know that it has not been a place of fundamentalist Muslims since ancient times. Their traditional women's clothes are colorful and they are not required to wear hijab, which is different from the Western stereotype of Muslim dress.

Before COVID, the universities used to be completely open. I remember always going to 南京航空航天大学 to eat in their cafeteria. However, because of COVID and the numerous protests on university campuses (especially the White Paper movement), universities completely closed down to outsiders. It's a shame, because the food was really tasty and cheap😂

I would love to visit someday! Uzbek and Uyghur languages appear to be mutually intelligible for the most part, Aysajan has a couple of Uzbek friends 😄 seems learning Uyghur will be useful to me in Uzbekistan too

Good video! I always wondered about all the teenagers riding trains around the country during the Cultural Revolution and how they maintained a distance. When I ask Chinese citizens they say, "oh, no way, nobody dared".

On the subject relating to this video title and out of curiousity, are you and Aysajan an item now? Seems like you have been featuring him in your videos quite often lately. Hope you won't consider it presumptive that our congrats are in order.

In Kat's high school prom picture, her boyfriend just left the seat. There is a girl from neighboring table? Oh, it's true that high school relationships last only a few months in the US. It's mainly to try out all kinds of potential future partners.

Just an insight to the Chinese mindset. It's important to put your education first and at the same time work on yourself to find out what you want in life. When you are emotionally and mentally not ready to handle relationships, you end up accepting things that are unacceptable such as toxic partners or not putting your happiness first.
