    Mythbusters has aged very well especially compared to other reality shows. I think in part it is because they legitimately find what they are doing interesting and very little of it is scripted, the vast majority is completely improvised or genuine. They also are all from the movie industry so larger-than-life reactions is what they are into.

    Was really hoping they'd try a parabolic mirror at the entrance to solve the directional sun issue. Making it out of glass would be near impossible w/o modern techniques, but given the polished metal assumption I think it's reasonable.

    I kinda would have hoped they had set a third benchmark for a darkness adjusted eye. It has been shown many times that this difference is very significant.

    Would've been irrelevant though, the experiment was to compare to the movie, and to see if the mirrors were enough to cover the ambient light needed to navigate, without your eyes adjusting since they entered straight from sunlight. Doing darkness adjusted benchmarks would've added a ton of unnecessary time since they'd take roughly 25 min per attempt, to gain no information of value.

    The problem with locking up the brakes is you’re overall braking effect is greatly reduced. It may seem counterintuitive but you should ease off the brake until the the wheels just start rolling, then you’ll get maximum braking effect. This is mainly for cars without ABS.

  • @MrMarinus18

    Those cars didn't have ABS. When you're braking really hard for an extended time the ABS is very noticeable as it rattles loudly.

    Typical automatic saloon car like that wouldn't have enough power to spin the wheels on dry tarmac, it will burn out the clutch trying to make it move. If it's a manual, once they get the car slow enough, the engine will stall.

    The most obvious problem with Tori's homemade method of stopping a car is, what if it's a rear-engine car? Is it going to explode from having a giant harpoon stabbed through your engine block?

  • @kikixchannel

    @kikixchannel

    Back when I was young, we smoked some whacky-tabaccy once in a while / daily. One time, after smoking a couple of smokes, the plan was to go to 7-11, get snacks and watch a movie. So. We walked thru the woods. And stuff. Till the guy with the last whacky cig realized he didn't have it anymore. We were able to retrace our steps easily thru the woods. Let's face it. We were in no shape for difficult tasks. And there, in a random place in the woods was a joint laying on the forest floor. Didn't even have to try. This was before cell phones, so there was zero lighting. If you can't see, wait a sec.
