“Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening”: Poem Analysis and Rhyme Scheme
There are a lot of ways a person can interpret this poem. This is the way that I did! In addition, I label its rhyme scheme in the second half. Leave any questions in the comments!

Well, while I do appreciate the effort, I must say that your interpretation is the first time I have ever had any stressful thoughts while reading, reciting, or listening to someone else recite this poem. While it is true that everyone will have their own interpretation, it has always brought out a calm, peaceful, sleigh ride through a chilly, winter , New England evening to me. It seems to me that the ride is so peaceful, and pleasant, that the author even takes a moment to stop...listen to the "sweep" of the "easy wind and downy flake," and think about just how peaceful and pleasant this place really is. His "little horse" then breaks his moment of solitude by giving a shake of the harness bells, reminding him that they have stayed here long enough. He then breaks his pleasant, thoughtful, moment of solitude and continues to get on with his "miles to go" responsibilities. Of course, this is just some of my own interpretations of the poem....but for me, my way is much more soothing, peaceful, and pleasant. Anyway, thank you for posting.

Hi Victoria, Congratulation on the brilliant video!!! Really loved your take on the poem. I memorized this poem as a kid back in school. Its short with simple words, yet it took years before I could really appreciate the meaning/message that the poet wanted to convey. Here is my take on this poem, would love to hear your thoughts. According to me Mr. Frost is referring to Henry David Thoreau the naturalist and his memoir "Walden" in the first stanza. Henry Thoreau left his city home to go live in the woods in a cabin by a lake, which froze in the winter. Mr. Frost refers to a frozen lake in the second stanza, which makes my hunch even stronger. The line 'He wont see me stopping here', again refers to Henry Thoreau, since the objective of Henry's stay in the woods was to observe the nature as it unfolds before him and yet he (Henry) wont be observant enough to see the poet stop by. While the second stanza gives a general description of the winter, snow and of course the little horse. I interpreted it a little differently. The little horse can be a metaphor for society, questioning with uncertainty if the protagonist and his decisions are correct. The last line in the stanza "The darkest evening of the year." while literally referring to a long evening, could also be referring to a dark and pivotal moment for the society. The society persist with their enquiry in the third stanza, but are left unanswered by the protagonist. The epic culminates with the protagonist reminding himself of his promises (of getting the society out of the troubled times) to the society and calls for him to march on, as its long way till he has accomplished the end goal.
it was a very nice explanation this makes it easy for me to learn the poem
