Me as a Bangladeshi also surprised to hear about it.... but my grandmother's (Dadi) grand father (Dada) was from Afghanistan...... He came here in Dinajpur during British times later married my dadi's dadi who was Bengali....

A very emotional and incredible vlog today. It's by far the best Vlog from Bangladesh series. The landscape of Sylhet was breathtaking. Only one complaint, should've posted more footage of Baba Shah jalal dargah (day time visit would've been better), was waiting for that.

King Gaur Gobinda had a conflict with Muslim saint named Hazarat Shah Jalal from Yemen. Who came to Bangladesh to preach Islam. King Gobindo lost conflict with Hazrat Shah Jalal. Seeing his mistic power local people converted to Islam. Sylhet has two shrines dedicated to the saint.

The brother who was talking about the house where the king lived for one day he was referring to King Gour Govinda a hindu king from Gour dynasty. It was Hazrat Shah Jalal who ended his kingdom and brought islam to this region. The Dhaka internationa airport is also named in his memorial

Fun fact : If you ask people born before 1971, a lot will identify Pakistani troops as "Panjabi". As general people of that time didn't have a concept of Bangladesh, or puahing for a separate nation. Most were upset about discrimination they faced by regime which was mostly consisting of Punjabi people. People during liberation war still considered themselves Pakistani and the war was initially a racio-political thing for rural people.

That's true. My Grandfather who passed last year always addressed Pakistanis as Punjabi. When I used to listen pre-independence stories from my Grandfather, he always described them as Punjabis.

Your whole tour of Bangladesh is on One side while the Oldman Baba g’s emotions & feelings are more valuable, unforgettable with lot of pain & memories. Being a Pakistani we must admit that Bangladeshi people are lovable and they don’t hate Pakistani people in general but they hate those who committed genocide of Bangla people and we all know who they are. My absolute wish is that now or later Pakistan must apologies to Bangladesh at official level and let the people connect each other to rebuild brotherhood.

Gour Govinda was the last Hindu king of Gaur kingdom (Sylhet region). He reigns from 1260-1303. So if Gour Govinda stayed in that house for one night it's at least 700 years old.

Most probably the temple like structures are graveyards. I mean after burning the body as per ritual the ashes are preserved there.

Still present Pakistan didn’t apologise to Bangladesh for the crime in 1971.And in Karachi most of the Bengali Pakistanis didn’t get the nationality card.

You can go to Rajshahi district of our country because it is the most clean and charming place in Bangladesh you can visit if you want.

What a painful story of Gul Khan, he was hailing from Lahore and murdered by his colleague in EPR (East Pakistan Rifles) most probably killed by the local Mukti inspired dissident and the slain left behind his offspring in Bangladesh. This should be recalled that the Sylhet was the only division in East Pakistan which decided to go with Pakistan after Referendum and their vote was annulled after the 71 Civil War. Let me inlighten you,Sylhet was always a part of Bengal, During british period they include it with Assam for make the state economically viable.And we don’t want Calcutta and other area.we are happy.we are developing in every aspect.
