Military provides structure and organization which are essential tools that we use in every day life that we take for granted

Unfortunately, it destroys individual thinking. I do not deny that the Military can provide structure and all that. Still, there are also a lot of drawbacks to the Military, which is why we, the people, be it vets, civilians, or soldiers, must do our job to change the military for the better and to improve upon it even if it means turning the military away from a force that destroys, to a power that builds, or engages in rescue operations.

So tell you what, how's about you look up how cult recruitment operates and compare that to how the US DoD recruits? There's endless videos online pointing out the comparisons and tendency of the DoD to abuse and exploit cult tactics during boot camp and their careers. Down to even deliberately trying to make their personnel mentally unfit for the civilian world so "Existence within the cult is the only form of life that makes sense." Cult 101: Make your victims utterly reliant on the cult in order to survive and limit their information of outside influences so they can't figure out how to effectively get out from under you. But sure, it's "Not a cult." I mean they said so, would a cult ever lie? Would the US military ever lie? Psh, Nawwwwwww whose ever accused Uncle Sam of being fraudulent? /s

This couldn't be me. I'm an engineer and technician. Its our job and reason for being to think of better ways and make them work. Drill Sergeant or anyone else shouldn't tell engineers what to do, rather what you want done and a time frame and not ask how or why. Just know it will be done in the time allotted.
