Real world answer: if you don't pre rinse you'll clog the screens for the water pump inlet faster, so you'll have to wash those more frequently which takes time and water, not to mention the washer usually clogs and stops in the middle of a cycle.

@@bogdannb detergent helps clean by dislodging food particles from the dishware, it's pretty common sense. It's not a garbage disposal and it doesn't magically dissolve food particles. The more food you introduce, the more it will eventually wind up in the pump screen, and over time it will clog it faster. Next time you roll around in the mud throw your pants in the washing machine all full of mud without pre cleaning them and see what happens.

@@bogdannb so where do you draw the line as far as food particles - what size is acceptable for your machine? You've only been washing dishes for 20 years? I've had experience with 20 different machines. From g.e. whirlpool kitchenaid asko cove, the basic rule of thumb is if you put anything larger than a pinky tip in there it's going to wind up in the bottom of the machine, stuff doesn't magically dissolve. But it will break down OVER TIME, which again, it's not a food disposal, but will eventually clog the screens. Apartment maintenance gets calls often for dishwashers not draining properly. Why? They aren't pre rinsing! Hell people were putting fruits and vegetables including grapes etc in dishwashers to wash them of covid, guess what happened? Nothing. they all remained in tact. If you introduce food, it's going to clog faster, period. You do you, and look at the majority of the responses in this thread. everyone else is going to pre-rinse also. Cya!

It seems like a lot of people that view this video also do not have a newer washer and may not have a large enough family to justify running their dishwasher everyday. However there are numerous people that want to maintain a clean house, which involves running the dishwasher (regardless of whether it's full) at the end of the day. I personally don't run mine very often as a single person renting an apartment - partially because my dishwasher is likely 10 to 20 years old.

The detergent clings to the food by design. If you "clean" them first you could ruin the finish on your dishes prematurely.
We always rinse the dishes in the sink as soon as we are done with them. You would be surprised the pain it saves you and the dishwasher later trying to get the stuck on food off.

So in theory, you’re “double dipping” 😂 - so much water waste for a little work cleaning the filters. If only others adopted that approach there’d be less water waste in the world. (Such a 1st world problem) The newer machines, like what was mentioned allows the detergent/tablet to bind to the leftover bits on your plate and breaks them down much more efficiently. Obviously sweep off leftover food but dried sauces are not a problem at all. I’m no tree hugger, but let’s do our bit for the rapidly declining planet we have left.

@kokkieamiga
9 ай бұрын
@@RoxyCherryRozy I have never ever heard such a bs story before. The reason a dishwasher will break down, is not caused by not pre washing your dishes. There is a filter system in place, which will catch all the bigger particles, so the drain and pump will never clog. Grease and oil, will be solved up in the water and detergent solution, and won't cause blockages when rinse away with the hot water/detergent solution. the reason a dishwasher will stop functioning is because of electronics getting old. For example my own dishwasher, it's a Miele, it is from 1987 and it's now partly broken, but it still does it's job and I NEVER EVER have pre rinsed my dishes before throwing in the washer. There were even times, I've used it as a garbage can, and it ate everything. Talking about convenience. Just emptying and cleaning the filter, throw it back in, and all is fine. I have done the same with other more modern dishwashers too, while on vacation, and they also worked very fine, no problems at all. You probably live in the USA, here in Europe, appliances will not end up in a landfill but end up at a recycling station. Now, let's unload the dishwasher and start making dinner, it's already late enough! good luck with your new way of life, throwing everything in, without pre rinsing!
