I've been wrestling with how to talk about this topic for a while now. What you've done has been a not-uncommon way to paint ork skin for a while now (any variation of green on purple, I've used teal on blue-green as well), but I think the most interesting thing you've done is apply a style to how you highlight the weapon and clothing, because that is definitely your touch that makes this model stand out, more so than the color choices I think. 'Style' specifically is what I'm trying to get at, because how do you actually inspire people do experiment instead of relying on 'eavy metal? We've had the "slapchop" or "peaking" as I call it, though it goes by a french term that I forget, as an easy-to-add-depth method for basically anyone to apply easily. But how do you get people to be creative? To start painting non-traditionally? I don't have an answer myself. For me the goal has always been minimum effort and maximum result, since I paint to put on the table first and foremost. eBay mini rescues has several videos along those lines. I bring it up because I want to see more beginners or amateurs paint freely, to have some techniques that they can build off of. Sorry for the idle speculation, it's a good video.

I appreciate the idle speculation. I really want everyone to paint freely. Paint things in a way they enjoy, rather than thinking about how "good" it is, or comparing it to anyone else. I try to walk through my process, and explorations to hopefully show that NOT knowing what you're doing can be the fun part. Maybe I don't really succeed at that, but I think I'm getting better at it. Regardless, I appreciate you watching, and for your comments.

I absolutely adore the almost impressionistic* style of your spec-ops ork - feels almost like a sketch done with something waxy, can almost see the texture of the parchment or canvas. Your approach to layering reminds me of how I painted my favourite piece ever (a Khador Warjack, sadly sold years ago). I'm definitely going to have a crack at this approach in my next model. * ehhhhh... I'm a bit fuzzy when it comes to art words, might be the wrong one

Love this, fantastic result as well. Even without much blending, it's so clean and reads perfectly as the materials you wanted. You do deserve more viewers!

this feels like the artistic equivalent of advanced maths that I know I'm too dumb for. I can see something amazing but I can't wrap my brain around it. Super cool.

Hey ho! Another great video! But what kept my interest pretty much is your Display Case. As far is I can tell, it is a Baggebo from Ikea right? Normally it has mesh sides (as seen also in your earlier videos), what makes it less ideal for our Mini's. In this video now it seems that you closed the mesh sides. Would you mind to share your upgrade with us???

Thank you! Must just be an optical illusion, or convenient camera angles. The sides of the cabinet are still mesh.

The only games subscription looks cool, but checking it out including shipping it's over $20 a month for 3 randomly selected minis. If it was free shipping it would be cool, but this subscription service being listed as $13 a month is misleading

I live in the UK where they are shipped from and it is £5.99 shipping and £2.00 tax which takes the price from £10 to £17.99.
