STOP making THESE MISTAKES in Photoshop

Download my Intro To Luminosity Masking here: arnl.ink/t5b8
In this video we're discussing 3 of the most common exposure blending mistakes I see photographers making in Photoshop.
They're the kind of mistakes that a non-photographer probably wouldn't notice right away, but their subconscious leaves them feeling like something just doesn't feel right about an image.
To you and me as photographers, when we can spot these mistakes we instantly know WHY it doesn't feel right, and you'll be able to see the missed potential in images that contain them.
You might like to follow this video up with some of my previous videos that will go into more depth on how to blend exposures accurately and naturally.

What would really really help if you now correctly blended those 3 images.

You could use blend if on your layer masks to protect the light, mid tones or darks as required.

Hey Steve. I'm a JS developer and I want to create some Photoshop panels to replace a bunch of Actions I've been using. I think I heard that PS panels are now done with HTML5 and JS. Can you point me to some resources for how to create them? Thanks in advance.

Yeah that's right, CC is all HTML5 and JS which is awesome. I already had a little JS and HTML knowledge, so I bought Davide Barranca's book on developing panels and that's all I needed (along with a lot of googling of course): www.davidebarranca.com/

@@SteveArnoldPhoto - Thanks a lot for the response. Was the book "Adobe Photoshop - HTML Panels Development"? And if so, I don't suppose you know if just the book itself is available, huh? The price of the full course is a bit steep ... especially since I'd have to deal the exchange rate from CAD to USD, which is pretty awful right now.

I got only the book with code samples (the Basic edition as listed on his site), and that was enough for me. Same issue here going from the Australian dollar! Ohhh how I long for the glory days when our dollar was 1 to 1 with USD lol

What drives me crazy are images where the reflection is so much brighter than the original source of light. Photographers who use graduated neutral density filters to darken the sky do this frequently. Ugh!

haha yeah, the grad filter is basically the in-camera way to make the overblending mistake!
