Stop Making Bad Iced Filter Coffee!
Iced filter coffee is a popular beverage, especially in tropical countries like Singapore. While cold brew is a popular way to make iced coffee, I prefer using the pour-over method.
However, sometimes our iced filter coffee can taste dilute, watery, or lack flavour clarity. After obsessing over making a great, delicious, and clear-flavoured iced filter coffee for years, I have found the key to success. And here's a bonus tip to share: all you need to do is take one extra step!
Here is a list of equipment used:
Hario Switch Dripper - hario-asia-official.com/produ...
Sibarist Filter Paper - homegroundcoffeeroasters.com/...
Acaia Weighing Scale - acaia.co/products/pearl
Magnolia Mountain Cup - www.magnoliamountain.org/

great recipe - only change I'd recommend is adding in ice just before the release to allow the brew to flash chill, which in my experience results in a more flavourful cup
thanks for the recipe!
Awesome video
Great video and some great tips. I would love to see your Aeropress 3 paper filter method as well if you ever get a chance to make another one of these videos :)
My iced filter coffee is very good thank you 🙏 but keen to checkout any method and study them ✌️
Aeropress version please

I have been making a fairly large aeropress iced coffee like this. 18-20 grams of coffee (preference for a stronger cup). 240 grams of water. (Gets pretty close to the top of the aeropress but should still be able to put plunger in pretty easily after a stir). Steep for desired time. 2-5 minutes. Press into cup. Add 60-70 grams of ice and stir to chill coffee. Pour into cup of ice and enjoy.
thanks for sharing the recipe! can I ask how long to immerse (close the switch) the grinds?
Make the AeroPress version as well, please :)
Would love to see your aeropress recipe!
Thank you for sharing the recipe! It seems like one of the most delicious ice recipes I've tried. Could you also let me know approximately how many microns ek7.5 is? Additionally, what duration should I set for the extraction to finish? Currently, it ends around 3:30.
Great video. I make myself an iced coffee at breakfast everyday with my Aeropress. Would love to see your recipe.

Aeropress version pls 🙏🏻
Hey! Any reason why you'd use 3 filters for the Aeropress? Following the idea of having a heavier bodied coffe wouldn't it be better to use just one?

You will find out soon 😏
I could see maybe using two aeropress filters, but do not understand why you would use three. There can’t be much difference in taste! I use an aeropress every day, with one filter, and absolutely love it.

More clarity. Very helpful in separating out flavour notes, a.k.a., "structure," in very light-roasted coffee. Now there are Aesir filters for Aeropress that do this better, but for many years three filters was the only way to go. Try it!

I use the clever dripper for filtered immersion and after watching James Hoffman I put water in before the coffee which speeds up the draw down. I think adding the coffee first you block some of the holes in the paper which is why it can choke.

It depends on the coffee and the type of filter paper too!
Let's say you're using aquacode for the brew water did you make the the ice cube with same aquacode water? What is your common ppm for daily pourover natural/washed coffee? TIA..🙏

It depends on the roast level for me and also the brewing conditions such like the humidity. Lighter roast - 80 to 160ppm Darker roast - 50 to 100ppm
Wait I missed the important part. Pour 220g of water , stir , wait for 2:30 and open the switch? Or how long do you wait?

Hopefully soon? 🤔️
If you already have a second pot ,why not put ice in the second pot then pouring the coffee in from the first pot. You can even use ice to chill the second pot first then dump the melted water like a bartender serving a cold drink, it will need lesser ice to cool down the coffee .
Aeropress version please
