Stop Hitting The Ground In Your Golf Swing

Are you hitting the ground before the golf ball? In today’s video, TJ and Riley go over the 3 top golf tips people chunk the ball in golf.
Reason 1: improper weight shift in the pelvis
Reason 2: the golf club moving “over” the plane in transition
Reason 3: standing UP through impact.
We hope this helps!

    I’ve played golf for over 35 years. Had golf lessons from ten different club professionals. My lowest handicap reached was 5.5. Not one club professional improved my golf swing. You from ELITE GOLF SCHOOLS are the very first tutors who fully explain the workings of the golf swing to a level where now I understand what a good golf swing is and more importantly how to maintain a good swing. 👍

    Im 8 months in as a new golfer and your channel has really made the light bulb go off. Most instruction and nearly every video has aspects of what you’re teaching but with no true explanation of “how and why”. It’s always just “you need to Buzz word buzzword buzzword” (eg. Shallow, swing around your body, right shoulder rotated back toward the target) and what you’ve done in your approach is explained this the way a person who’s a mix of a physics and anatomy professor would, which really is necessary so you understand the source of successful swings and the root of common mistakes. Keep up the great work!

    you guys represent next level understanding and learning of the golf swing. The vertical to horizontal concept marries so well with pelvis dropping and chest turning. How does this work when you get into wedges? same concept, but less pronounced? still want a nice shallow strike w wedges to control flight, right? Do you guys favor slightly flatter lie angles in irons? Seems like that goes well with the vertical to horizontral hit! Thanks!

  • @mitchgrossbach1432
    @mitchgrossbach14325 күн бұрын

    maybe an odd question, but is there downside to bringing the club back through P4 semi below the plane from the outset, so you are essentially already where you seemingly want the clubhead to be prior to starting your 'horizontal' hit on the ball? I find that if I take the club back on or above the plane, then the job of getting the club to be moving vertical first, in order to get horizontal for the hit is semi-hard for me to time. It seems as if the swing required works well (at least for me) if I simply bring back the club semi below the plane to start with, so I only need to consider a horizontal hit....but curious if I'm trading off some other benefit or mechanical need by doing this? This video is extraordinary by the way, as you really help solidify that the sternum location dictates where the club will bottom out, and I had heard this and seen this in other videos but never realized that there are these three reasons why this happens in the first place. Lastly...I understand the dropping of the pelvis is what helps get the club head below the plane, but that is yet another move that feels alkward to think about as the swing is happening, and I do know I must be dropping the pelvis if I'm even making solid contact with the ball through the hit (which I am)....but thinking about a deeper drop or the drop at all really is difficult for me and creates other problems. hope it makes sense.

    Video request: how the toe of the golf club is supported through the hit, what kind of forces you have to apply. Since the sweet spot is eccentric from club shaft, it has to be supported, otherwise face goes open. Probably a reason a lot of people dont get club face closed, because this is one of only sports where the strike is not in line with the shaft.

    Truthfully, it’s much less side bend than appears. Most of that is created by maintaining the spine angle set at address, as well as some influence form the arm lines being loaded in a certain way. We see players with much more side bend than this that do fine, as well as less side bend. It’s definitely not a necessity to flush it out 👍

One final observation…I often hear instructors say your thighs should “kiss” if you’re completing your downswing correctly. I notice that this is nearly impossible if you are transferring by leading the pelvis vs the ribs and torso and this is nothing I ever would have e figured out before. Once I tried leading with the torso versus the pelvis for the shift I noticed the thigh kiss happens easier. Keep up the great work!
