I, 72 year old man has suffered hip pain for over 10 years. Sometimes every step feels like your hip is getting stabbed with a screwdriver. Been to many Doctor's and Physical therapists. No help. Several months ago I tried some hip stretches, within a week my pain was GONE! Now I am back on the tredmill getting good cardio workouts. I spend about 1/2 hour stretching after the35 minute fast walk. It is a blessing, no meds, no Dr.s, just simple stretching of the hips!

Thanks so much, SO MUCH, Bob & Brad & Mike, my hips are a big part of my long "problem-list" at the moment, but definitely have been experiencing stiffness, hip pain several ways, and surely caused by decades of sitting, hunching over a computer - "secretarial spread" is a real thing! the hips have forgotten how to be hippy, and I used to have some AMAAAAAZingly hippy hips! I really appreciated that demo at the beginning explaining what the inner workings look like, and how that seated-(50 hrs /week +) - posture, can cut off the necessary fluids-flow and energy that is totally the case. well I am semi-retired now, so only obligated to be seated about 20 hrs a week, plus personal desk time, also significant , but better than before! I am going to try these out & keep watching, THANK YOU!!! also right knee problems & everything needs to work together!

That "noodling" element Brad demonstrated on the stool was something I had not been shown by my physical therapist, and it really works. Thanks for showing us all that.

I came across this video and I think this is the answer to my hip problem. I'm 72 and sit quite a bit. The pain started several months ago and just taking a step was very painful in the front of my hip and down my thigh. I ride a stationary bin which seems to help but my leg I'd still very painful and feels like lead sometimes. I'm going to try these exercises to see if I can get relief.

I’m 76 with chronic pain in my left thigh and back. My therapist took X-rays and suggested exercise. I’m using chairs and stairs but this is working.

My whole problem ended up being that I had to have both of my hips replaced because I didn’t have any cartilage left plus I had two bone spurs on each hip joint, after surgery I had immediate relief. So glad for having that surgery.

Guys I am so glad I found this video thank you! I had a successful right knee replacement about 10 months ago. A month or so ago, I had an x-ray and my ortho doctor said that my left hip is bone on bone. A week ago, I tried to play golf and had to stop after 8 holes, could not move to left side. So I see ortho guy in a few weeks to get views of what to possibly do. I would like to know which of your stretches might most likely to help relieve some of my hip pain. Thanks So Much!!
I do some of these stretches, but do have pain in left hip as I have osteoarthritis there! Will keep trying!! Thx!!
Finally after watching 1000 videos, that's the one, the real deal ... I have Osteoarthrisis in one hip cause of a motorbike accident 25 years ago, sitting too long for 3 years caused me a Tight psoas and hip flexors which compress this defected hip joint and make me suffer, Exactly wt you guys talk about >>> thanks for the real deal info

I've learned to not stretch my hips without first doing strengthening exercises for the glutes and hips. Over time, too much stretching without strengthening can actually increase pain and risk of injury.

Yes i agree the pitformis muscle stretch totally went crazy and took me out for weeks .So bad for me but we did find out that it is on my hip flexors tat are spasming and get tight when walk just a few feet it starts .Thank you for that part anyway .
