I’ve been struggling with microgreens. I’ve been using bricks to weigh them down for a few days, and then a couple days in blackout, then introduce them to light. It’s been kinda hit or miss for me, some just didn’t work out. This seems to be a great way to grow them, and when you’re talking cheap and easy, I’m thinking the clay pebbles will last a very long time, so you’re definitely saving in the long run

Yeah, I got tired of losing entire trays of microgreens. This way if something goes sideways, it's just a small amount.

Where can you find these glass containers?

I found glass containers at dollar tree with plastic lids, but the lid is solid/closed. Should I just cut an x shape into them like the lids you have here?

Is it okay to put seeds in an airtight container while they germinate? I started these clay pebble microgreens in a glass Tupperware that has a locking lid. There’s a little air in there and I open it twice a day to see if it needs to be sprayed, but I didn’t know if it was okay to lock them in while they’re still just germinating.

Can you grow with regular pebbles? Pea gravel would be heavy, but could work? Maybe?

I don't know. They just bring things in and dump them in bins. Starts at $10 one day and drops to $1 by Wed.

Sounds like a Florida flea market to me … if you search discount glass bowls you should find some deals…you’ll also find glass pipes so you may have to refine your search lol

I would not, the water has been sitting for a week and it is in nutrients, not for consumption.

I had the same question. I have been using it based off of his recommendation but it looks like he has moved away from it. I don't remember him explaining the change unless I missed a step in a video somewhere.

worked for me but I do mostly leafy greens. Other people were having trouble with it and reducing the ratio. I don't get into messing with all of that and just suggest the original formula so everyone does not get confused.

@@KeepOnGrowin Thank you Mike! I was one of those that had some initial issues. After some tweaking, I think I got it right. My issue seemed to be proper dilution of the powder. Once I let it fully dissolve in the water and increased the water ratio slightly, to about 75% strength, I got the best results. (for me) Awesome new idea using the clay pellets!! I also had a lot of trouble with the right mix/dilution. I now mix it at half strength and now most of my plants are doing much better. But then I am using it for mostly indoor plants and young plants under lights, not outside in bright sunlight. @@MK-cw4gw

microgreen seeds are cheaper for bulk. You can use regular but it will cost a lot to do any volume.
