In the streets maybe, it's fine to greet people. But in present ations, it may require a bit of style since people deliberately go to that place, not just randomly kidnap their selves to the event.

In most cultures around the world, greeting your audience is more important than whatever beautiful opening words you think you have to captivate their minds. It’s the greeting that connects you to the audience. So, perhaps, this video is directed to people in a particular section of the world. Context is all that matters. Thanks though for the video.

@@this-is-bioman No, I am not thinking. People in many non-western cultures cherish greeting. It’s the alpha and the omega of every type of relationship. Miss the greeting part, you miss the audience. The most important thing to consider in any presentation is CONTEXT! This shouldn’t be difficult for an average person to grasp, except you want to impose your own culture on other people. Thank you.

@@aytadi8893 > except you want to impose your own culture on other people I'm glad you've said that because that's exactly what you're doing here. You're trying to tell me that "your" culture is superior to "my" culture. Culture has no owners and everyone is allowed to change it, to make up his own culture, to influence it etc. Culture isn't fixed. It exists as familiar patterns in our minds. Unfortunatelly most people don't have the courage to live their own culture and conform to whatever the mysterious majority pushes them to do while at the same time the all do the same. It's a vicious circle of status quo until someone has the guts to say "stop! I no longer want to comply with this nonsense!". That's the point where new culture is born.

I’m positive the owner of this page agrees with the fact that lifelines / content and powerful impact is everything. That’s why she wrapped it up with her statement at the very end “start as you go on “ . The first few seconds of any speech will determine weather you are embraced or dismissed, and if you are mentally dismissed it does not matter how lively you are through out the rest of the presentation. You must remember that not all of your audience will be captured by a happy smile some need facts, some need funny and some need feelings as was once said by Kwesi Millington. My Dear Deborah you deserve a standing ovation for this content. You were clear concise and very informative .Thankyou so much 👏👏👏👍🏽👍🏽

...A simple salutation like good morning is a COMMON DECENCY for any human interaction. Someone skipping that is a clear indicator to me that they have a very rigid speech planned, have no interest in a 'dialogue', just want to get the presentation over with and have no real interest in building a rapour with me. I'm just a seat, the possibility of a sale, a faceless observer acruing yet another candle to their spot in the limelight. There's a reason why in non-western cultures you start conversations, negotiations and general human dialogue with greetings, it's an indication that whatever I may be trying to teach or sell you - I 'see' you.

If u have 1 minute to speak in an advert are you going to use your 10 seconds greeting viewers or creating a hook. KZread may give your viewers 10 seconds to watch your advert before skipping. A good advert that converts starts with a hook after the hook you can then greet your listeners that shows professionalism. The aim is not to follow a system but to communicate. This is why it's important to follow the teacher's instruction.

  • @221b-Maker-Street

But they might already be _mentally disengaged,_ and you can't always _spot_ that as the listener until it's already too late, unfortunately... Being present in the room is not the same as being _engaged._ Most disengagement is not _overt_ and to assume it is, is rather naïve. Bored people rarely announced that they're bored - they're not that helpful!

What Im getting is that, we should stop being overly polite and get straight to how we want our audience to feel. Intrigue their thoughts, waken their emotions, make them excited and feel alive. As a student, we always would want to listen to those who make us feel engaged, those who make give us that feeling that there is something we can contribute. A speech although it is mostly the speaker that does the talking, the listeners are also participating via emotions and might as well have them feel welcome and given space to be part of.

Actually trading was not easy for me. Lost a lot of money through +500,FBS also lost a lot of money to trading assistants and copy trader's, almost gave up on forex/Bitcoin trading. but a friend of mine introduced me to a good broker, at first I thought it was another way of wasting my hard earned savings. But my greatest surprise was my investment of $3,000 came out with $6,580 in 10 days trading..... You just have to be patient with them till your trades are completed..... To be honest I didn't just recovered all my previous losses.. I made much more than my past expenses.. actually she charges 15% which won't affect you in any way since her trading efficiency comes in multiples of investment... I personally recommend Mrs Stephie trading services for best copy trading always trade with them and stop loosing your money.... reach out to her and believe me a trial will convince you Here's her contact details ⬇️⬇️⬇️ +1 8 6 3 8 5 5 7 8 3 2 @ WhatsApp

Even more important, in my opinion, is to learn how to speak fluently in public without notes. Italian high school students are trained to do this. I find it galling to watch our representatives in congress simply read their speeches. It makes for far less effective presentations.

What you're doing is engagement. A thank you is a final note. It's the end. A hello is an invite for another to respond, but the audience can't respond in a one way conversation, sorting them into a filed away state. You immediately lost their full attention. An opening that starts the imagination is the one that hypnotizes the audience into what you're bringing to the table and helps them remember.

I enjoyed this video. As a public speaker and communications geek, these points were spot on. I was a little thrown off by seeing that there was the use of cue cards. I know it's hard to memorize a speech (message), especially when there's so much to share. I would've loved to see an organic expression in this video. I'll be back to engage and learn more. Great content and channel!

Stop being polite and start being more passionate. What's wrong with being polite? We all need to be more polite in this world. I find this interesting, and think those phrases can find their way in a presentation, but I am always going to start with "hello" and "thank you for spending your time with me".

If you are there because you have to say something, you won't make any impact despite catchy intros. If you're there because you have something to say, you will make it no matter how lousy your intro is.
