It depends on the circumstances and the contents they are facing. Keep giving Don't expect from a beggar means don't do business with a beggar either. Dharma changes with the facts and circumstances of each case. If we happen to be in a battle field we have to fight. I can't go and preach ahimsa there. It is insane to get comfort in being a victim. Ofcourse it can be a console.
