Never forget the Duke womens volleyball game feux controversy of a fan in the BYU student section saying a racial slur to a Duke player. Vudeo and interviews exhonerated the student, but not before thousands of negative articles and a cancelled women's basketball game versus the South Carolina Gamecocks. This was a crucial point in which BYU began to be oversensitive to others team's perceived slights. It's difficult to stomach as a BYU fan, while also being understandable behavior by the administrators.

As a UT-ex, I could care less about the Horns Down deal. If it gives UT haters, yourself included HSC, some comfort, go for it. I support my school. I never trash others, except for may OU during Red River Rivalry week. 😁 It is just the way I was brought up. I know there will be little love for UT or OU in the SEC, but it should be a lot of fun competing in the best conference in collegiate football. On a sad, somber note, I am sorry about the shooting in Kansas City. Gun violence is something that seems to be just getting worse and worst in this country. Too many guns. Too many crazy people. I pray for KC and for America! Thoughts and prayers! 🤘

BYU tries to maintain high standards at all times, so the administration goes into crisis lockdown mode if anyone outside of Cougar nation starts complaining about fans or the teams. It's no way to live imo, but that's how they roll.

@jbrock8596 I'm just not calling it "weak". It's how BYU does things. Don't they give free ice cream to visiting fans at football games? It's different there. For all I care, they can "Horns Down" all they want.

If you knew the torment of having a rival like Utah for over 100 years, you would also understand why BYU is trying to be kind to everyone else. The Holy War really is a war between its fans to the point that we would love to give the rivalry of Utah to anyone else as our permanent replacement.
