Beautiful landscape. Very similar to the terrain near me in South Carolina in the USA. Interesting, as a landscape near the city of my ancestors. Yes. This is my real name.

at 6.10 where the fallen tree had been sawn through,further along and a steep climb up the slope heading towards the fenceline there used to be and perhaps still there some sweet chestnut trees that produced edible nuts (not conkers or horse chestnuts) i knew where all the mushrooms grew and blackberries (brambles) were in abundance.

Thank you, my friend. The GoPro is very sensitive to sound (and WIND!), so it's nice to be able to take advantage of the birdsong and water. I do have a Rode external microphone but it's quite difficult and fiddly to set it up with the GoPro. Have a great week! 😊

i know this area well,i had a new house built in middlestown in 1984 and until i returned to scotland in 2004 i walked all around this area nearly every day with my dogs for company.

I live near here and do this walk with my dogs every day! These woods are lovely all year round and have changed a bit since this video was taken. Excellent video but there are easier routes through these woods though.

Another great video. Love the sounds. So relaxing. Have u walked round Nostel priory or wintersett? I think they would make good videos. Keep up the good work.

Thanks, Dave. I recorded Angler's Country park but not Wintersett because it's very muddy at the moment. I'm going to record Nostel Priory and the like when everything reopens. 😊

I used to live opposite the church in Netherton, probably very close to where you parked! I used to go down them woods everyday as a child. I now live in Middlestown so see the woods mainly from the other side of the valley but so like to visit this end when the weather allows me to visit my dad in Netherton

I only stumbled on these woods a few weeks ago after searching on Google. I can't believe I've lived in Wakefield all these years and never knew they existed. I feel I've missed out. I've now been there three times in less than a week. 🤣
