Great comments after the track. It's insane to think that, after almost 30 years, their newest album may be their best (or at least can be in the conversation). What other band is like that? Most bands put out a few great albums that everyone loves and then spend their rest of their careers chasing that initial popularity, releasing material that gets mostly ignored until they fade away. With Tool, there's zero filler. Any record could legitimately be argued their best...including their next one, if they decide to record another. Who else can you really say that about? Is anyone really looking forward to another Metallica or Korn album? I love Radiohead, but I didn't even listen to their latest. Tool really is special...

I absolutely loved your comments at the end. I have seen many other Tool reactions but you nailed it. I would agree that money is the result of patient and evolving art, but Tool's overall message is very simple. To me their art says be free, be yourself, look forward...and fuck everyone and everything that brings you down.

Though the lyrics are deadly serious about how we must all mobilize and come together to save our whole planet and our own asses from extinction (just my personal interpretation), the music itself just puts me in a trance, takes me to a whole different plane of being where time has no meaning and I can't tell if I was gone 4 minutes or 40. My fave song off this album and in my top 3 of all Tool songs.

The way they lure you in to that feeling of comfort and complacency. The teller of the story starts out that way, quiet, complacent, feeling a little overwhelmed even or depressed, eventually mustering the strength of will to get up and do something. I mean this song really takes you on a journey, and every part of the song from the drums to the lyrics is part of that story. It's not a poem over some music, or some music with words on top. It's all together, and it's really quite an inspiring rally cry and the ponderous rousal of a sleeping giant. Magnificent.

This has the 2nd best buildup of any Tool track imo. The entire buildup to the 7 min mark on this track is pure bliss. The only song that I think surpasses this one in terms of buildup is Rosetta Stoned. Rosetta Stoned's build up around the 7-8 min mark is probably the best in all of music.

Its pure art expressed through the human ego, these guys have transcended preconceptions of music. They're not bound to the traditional music industry or what people "want". They've mixed the bigger picture with the human experience and turned into art expressed through instruments, its invigoratingly intoxicating.

It's a call to action against our ruinous habits, including our laziness. It's riddled with bits about getting us to take action instead of passively and lazily accepting our ruinous behaviours. Example: "Stir us from our wanton slumber! Mitigate the ruin. Calling all to arms and order!" "Rouse us all from our apathy"

I remember an interview with Adam Jones where he said that he and Justin see themselves as something like the left and right hands on a piano. It really does feel like one body or consciousness that binds all of their sounds (Maynard and Danny included...of course) together. 🤯🤯

Really great analysis after the video. Pure Art is the long money. It’s also what actually gets remembered. Do you think in the long run anyone will care about the next pop sensation? No… but what they will remember is Led Zeppelin, Rush, Pink Floyd, Metallica, Nirvana, Tool. Art will survive the long game.

you want to blow your mind, watch "Secrets of Tool's Fear Inoculum" you will shit a telephone pole when you see what actually went into making the album. I promise, you won't regret watching at least half of it. Lots of thinking but it makes the Tool experience even more meaningful.

I'm reading a quote by Danny Carry right now it says" we were probably working a good, solid five years on Fear Inoculum" he said he likes the narrative that they were working on the album for over a decade, but it's just not true. "I kinda wish I could say it did take 13 years make" he said.

With many bands I'll use Metallica as an example their hard core followers tend to dislike their later work as compared to the early stuff. For me anyway.. my opinion is that Fear Inoculum is Tool's best effort to date as an album in its entirety... I really don't know where they can go from here... but I hope we all get a chance to find out.

Chubachaprachackra, my man! A bit late to the party, I humbly appologize but was busy as hell working. I see you are progressing to THE REAL STUFF :) Shiiiit. I knew I could leave you alone for a bit with these Tool motherfuckers. Haha! Meet me at some mindblowing A Perfect Circle stuff. On the other side. Do "The Noose".

So...completely un-Tool related, but what is that you are using for your dabs? I've been contemplating trying dabs because I smoke damn near a half of flower a week. Having to use a torch like a tweaker is really off-putting and part of why I never really got into them. haha

Brah.... Same!! Then I just hit a stretch where I couldn't find quality flower and started getting dab. After using just the pen for like a month I decided to make the jump to the peak. When I left the smoke shop dude said my life was gonna change 🤨 I was like... what is this dude on lmao.. But he was not lying.. I save so much money compared to what I used to spend on flower. Now I have the Puffco Peak Pro and it is the shit! they need to sponsor me and stop bullshittin lol
