Stone Stairs & Masonry / Off Grid CABIN Building (S4 Ep18)
It was a great challenge for me to build the stone stairs. I've never before worked with stone and cement like this. Learning how to cut and shape stone was fun and above all you need patience to get the stone to split the right way. It turned out ok for first stone work at my log cabin. I've done some mistakes that you probably won't notice in the video, but I was able to fix them.
Thank you for watching!

It is good that the orange supervisor left you alone and only dropped by to make sure you were following the blueprints.
Besides the great craftmansip, the chickens and the cat are the main characters...

Seeing how much LIFE surrounds this house... made me feel joy
Imagine some years from now... being Nik's grandchild, and watching on KZread how your grandfather built the house you spend time in... blows my mind

Are you sure you’ve never done this before? ‘Cause you sure look like a pro! Beautiful work!
Love how the foreman cat inspects your work in the crawl space below the house, then quietly stands over you as you lay the concrete; making sure that you do the work correctly. Clearly that is one construction savvy cat. And of course when off the job, he sends in his second: Rooster McBuilder.
came here, years ago, for what i thought will become a bigger hunting cabin. still here for the family home / kids adventure playground / art project / cabin. thanks for your beautiful vids greetings
That cat is hilarious and adorable.

love the scenic interludes , million dollar views and the stone work looks like a dream ,,,when one does not set limits , what is possible is limitless, while you may not have done this before ,,, neither did the first person their first time ,
Wow! What a transformation: from a wild-and-woolly man-of-the-mountains to a Nic Rijavec in one simple hair-cut! The stone-work and filming were pretty good too!
the boss always riding your back? LOL to cute!
Chicken whisper!!! You and your chicken seem to be quite the pair. Adorable kitty too. Lovely stone work❤😊
The level of relaxation watching this episode was super high. For me the cat stole the show 😁! Amazing work, you give me so many ideas to work with around my own house, and I thank you for that! WELL DONE! 👏👏👏
Your chickens are definitely pets.
Nik another beautiful addition to your home, for never doing masonry you did one heck of a job! Thanks for sharing with us all your beautiful work! Kevin
What a pleasure it is to see a man do the work to learn the skills needed to build using a material he has never used before. You are an example to everyone that has the desire to build, create and enjoy. Thank you for your hard work and hope you have many years of enjoyment from your efforts.
💚 Loved the morning sun rays and tree steam footage!
Perfect addition.....beautifly built 👋👋👋👋👋👏👏👏👏 I had a cat who would sit on the refrigerator in my kitchen who would smack me in the head as I walked by.....wonder what she was trying to tell me.....
The ginger kitten was fascinated with your work!
Beautiful work Nic, thank you for sharing. The cat and chickens just not leaving you alone is very funny, but how you treat them for being that way speaks a lot about you as a kind person and a good father
It was very interesting to actually be able to see someone completely learn a new skill on camera. You can see the lessons you have learned from stone to stone, getting better and better with each cut. This seems like a very fun skill to learn, and so satisfying to know that all your hard work is paying off right before your eyes. You have turned into a very good videographer and storyteller through your work with the cameras. We are all glad that you chose to film all this amazing, hard work and share it with the world. Bless you and your family, Nik
I like your channel ! and watch you for long time ... and i can tell you ... i RESPECT , APPRICIATE & LIKE everything you do. Work with hands i something that every person should know to do or learn; it evolves you , your brain and mind so much + hard work stops you to think about bad things , negativity in general it helps to clear your mind and toughts 🙌😍🔥... Greetings from Croatia Nick 😄🙌🔥 ... Continue making amazing content ❤️🤞😊
Great to see you again. I have watched every episode from the start. Best of luck!
Great job Nik looks fabulous , I have just made a garden wall with rocks and stones that the farmers just pile up at the side of their fields after ploughing if they hit any .... a great source of material for free !
Long time watcher, love your work. Keep adding on, you are going to need the room😁
WOW , love the masonary work , for someone who has never done it before (you are very talented in everything you do) I think you would show up some of the experts . Love the very "Nic's original" and spectacular cabin build , with the help of your beautiful wife and children (and pets) . Thank you !!!!!
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that has problems with cats and chickens 😂❤
Nik you’re the kind of guy who I love to hire to do odd jobs that I can’t even think about tackling all day you’ve no skill in don’t something but that you’ll give it a good go and you 99 times out of 100 times build a masterpiece that you didn’t know you could do. You are all craftsmen living after your time just don’t realise it. Brilliant job even with your fancy labourers. 😂😂😂😂
That’s beautiful Nik and your little kitty too, and thanks for sharing! 👏👏👏🤩🤩🤩💯💯💯
Now THAT was a lot of hard work. Anyone who has worked with stone and concrete will know just how tiring that can be. Great work Nik, awesome job!
That inspector and the three code enforcement officers didn’t leave you alone for a second! It’s amazing you got anything done. Nice work.
VERY nice Nik. Love your imagination and skill. Everything you do seems to come out beautiful. I remember when it was just you and some logs. I'm glad you share what you do. Don't know what I like most. Watching you build or the nature where you live. Either way, all is beautiful. Thanks for sharing! Those chickens and that cat.....funny!
I'll never understand how Nik does all this work and never looks or acts tired. I would love to have half his work ethic. It's not even work ethic, it's that his body can keep up with his work ethic!
Excellent work, dogs, cats and chickens all living together, and a beautiful meditation. Marvelous. Thank you Nik!
That cat is so funny sitting next to the shovel at work lol :P
That steps look fabulous
I love the way the kitten “helps” you!
I hate when it goes wrong but I love that you show it.
Wow Nik. Time and patience you can do anything! Great job
There's just something soothing and calming about chickens and cats while you're working.
Thanks, Nik. I enjoyed seeing how the cat and the chooks wanted to participate, especially the really curious one. They helped deliver some really nice steps.
For a first timer your awesome cuts in those large blocks of rock ,it looks dam good
Hats off! Incredibly beautiful front porch and stairs!!
And the eggs are free-range:) Nicely done, Nik. I love your work and energy and willingness to take on new challenges
beautiful job. love the cat and the chickens. they love you.
The largeness of the stone steps complement the size of the house! The seasons changed. This must have taken you 6 months or so! So beautiful.
Absolutely beautiful 🤩 the cat 🐈 just love you for a bed and the chickens 🐓 are really friendly
Well, the cat and chickens definitely kept you company. Very sweet. Fantastic job on the steps, very impressive.

I find your stairs a peace of fine art.
Nik, your house projects are not only amazing, but astounding as well. Salute to you Nik.
Impressive stonework! I felt like watching old masons guessing how to make castle walls and you were really fast at getting the knack of it. I'm sure the cat was more than happy to watch your work.
Omg the kitten and chickens are soooooo freakin cute.
How nice and friendly that you listen to the advice of your animal supervisors.
Your steps fit masterfully with your home Nik. You did a beautiful job at building them. Hard to believe you have not done this type of work before, but we can say that with your work on the whole cabin.
A cottage like from a fairy tale. You are very talented. Thanks for posting relaxing videos to watch every time.
Nik I just like your originality of building your off grid home👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Well done Nik, as usual your work is beautiful. And really relaxing to watch.
I love the way you work. Wonderful work. The front stairs are nothing less than a well mastered creation, unique and practical all at the same time not to mention the use of the stone. Kudos to you Sir for your reminder of tenacity to the stone, wilfullness, family, nature, I could go on. I'd love to see some pics of the back stairs. Bless you and your family.
i am so in awe of the breathtaking work you do Nik, always with so much love and care. the content, always the incredible content. thank you so much, it brings up so many memories along the way - of rocks and stairs and youth, especially youth. your cat knows how to make the most life!

Once again your creativity, ingenuity and hard work comes through. Just beautiful.
You truly live in and create beauty ❤
Everything Rik builds is a work of art
Love all the supervisors always looking over your shoulder
Un trabajo espectacular y magnifico, saludos desde España
And then you show us something different along with all your other unique talents which is a stone mason. As I watched you tinker with each chosen stone I could see that you got more and more comfortable with where and how you cut them. At first there was a mistake or two but nothing you couldn't deal with. You made it work. At the end you learned how hard and sharp to hit the stone to get nearest to a perfect cut. ..... Just as you said in the beginning it was a learning experience. You did well and it turned out spectacular! Keeping to the true artist that you are...another fine video. Thnx. A cyber friend, Me southern AZ. (USA)
Very beautiful work. For someone who has no experience in stone work, you did a great job.
You have a lot of patience Nik, looks Great

Now you are a stone mason with a cat apprentice and chickens for supervisors. PLUS a sore back! Nice work!!!
You perfected that masonry job Nic,...well done sir. Cape Town South Africa.
what a beautiful cabin!
Nik, you are a fortunate man to have animals love and trust you for their safety. Are you at all concerned about water somehow getting into the steps and freezing? I think you did a fantastic job sealing around every rock. 👍👍👍
Grande Nik, sei un artista!! I talenti come te sono patrimonio dell'umanità ❤
The stairs look fabulous Nik, great job 👍👍. The cat seems to want to supervise the work 😂
