This arched stone bridge turned out pretty great considering the time constraints and lack of planning.

Streams are actually relatively easy to do. The key to it is cork sheets for the banks and something heavier for the base for it. One of the best options for the majority of the river, namely the straights is to look in the school isle at the rulers with sloped sides and a groove int he middle. Cork sheet is large pieces that are about the thickness of foamcore that are rather nice and come in large sheets that last forever. Cut the rulers to the lengths you want. Take the cork and start tearing little pieces off and working up the sides, the groove being the waterway and the cork as the banks for it. Use your hands to work the foam into what you think looks good, then add some gravel and sand to it. Once it's ready, hit it with a primer layer and paint it up as you like. Then, for the water, you can use whatever water effects you want, but if you get some of the bottles of polyurethane gloss that are available and a mix of acryllic ink added to the bottle (You really want to do this as a "bulk" project that way where it's an entire bottle of water effects you can go back to. Then just add a few layers of it down the channel. Don't really brush it on save for the first and last coat, but glop it in place and let it dry before adding more layers. Once you get a few layers, it looks a lot more like real water, but when you're happy with the depth, take some clear mod podge and stipple it over the water and once that's dry, brush on a layer of polyurethane without the ink to cover it

The curse of the experienced crafter. You're better than most but know how bad you are really doing, especially on a speed build where you have both what it should look like and your own best work with which to compare it.

I've been scratch building the Evil Dead cabin from styrene plastic and am trying to figure out how I'm going to construct the chimney. I happened to stumble across this channel, and upon seeing you use foam to make bricks, I feel like that question is answered! It seems a lot more efficient (and sane) than cutting out individual brick shapes then sanding them all down to look more stone like, or even etching out the stone detail into a sheet of styrene with a needle file (I've already done that with all the wood planks lol). I love finding cross-overs between different niche building. I don't have an interest in table top games or even model railroad building, but some of my favorite channels are ones like this and model railroad channels. A lot of the techniques are interchangable and there is almost always some sort of intersection between seemingly unrelated industries. I guess this is just a long winded way of saying "I enjoy watching your work and I've found inspiration for my own projects in them." lol

Suspected the stone bridge might win out. Very well done project, especially given your self imposed time limits. I agree about the tank tread look...but take heart from the fact that we learned a lot from the techniques you used to address the problem. If you had just done the same process as the bricking on the sides, we wouldn't have seen the striping and cap methods you did to be happier with the result. Look forward to future builds

Maybe create a tutorial on a specific idea like your bridge, and have your viewers create and post. It would be great to see all the creative ideas and see different personalization added to your base.
