Stokely Carmichael Lecture at Howard University, 1972
During a lecture to students at Howard University, Stokely Carmichael speaks about the movement of black people toward unity with a clear, common ideology based on science. He stresses black people must put theory into practice - organize and take action. He speaks about the differences between revolutionary and reform movements; Pan-Africanism; the All African People's Revolutionary Party; scientific socialism; nkrumahism; capitalism; and imperialism.

Wow, he was about 30 or 31 at this time. What a 30 year olds doing today? Playing video games, Tik Tok, dreaming of becoming a rapper Etc... When Martin Luther King started Civil Rights Movement he was in his late twenties. When Marvin Gaye made the song "what's going on" he was in his early thirties. If we don't get it together our are people going to fail miserably. Everybody having their phone out recording and wanting to be a social media star is not it. Social media is killing our people. They just don't know it yet.
Thank God we have this footage.
He is speaking on a universal level. Which is universal truth.

@@HASSTYLEPROGRESS It is. That's not him being anti-religion. We Africans know we are the most religious peoples, so religion and spirituality will play an integral roll in revolution and mass African liberation. We study history to learn from successful revolutions in the past, kicked off by religious rituals (notably the most famous case of the Haitian revolution). With the conditions we are in especially today we must learn from our past struggles and apply elements to our new scientific (socialist) revolutionary movement(s).

I was born in 1967 so I was 5 when this lecture was conducted. I was more than likely watching the Flintstones or Buggs Bunny cartoons. After watching this I'm like damn, I need to pour out all I think I know and start over with a clean Tabula Rasa. Thank you for keeping this footage alive. This type of knowledge was and still is vital to our mental sharpness; because once you can grasp the Global picture of how it all works socially/politically/economically you can see were we have been systematically crippled on an intellectual level.

YES!!! I was maybe one year old. I believe my generation (GenX) of white kids would have been *transformed* if we had been taught / allowed to know about what *actually* was going on and our *real* history. I’m rebooting myself :-) and I love the “tabula rasa” intention!
As soon as he started wriping the black board you just knew it was on. Awesome 20th century black mind, and beyond!

I swear this might sound crazy but he reminds me of Dolph the way he stand the way he talk the hair cut the height etc like he came back as a rapper. Do you believe in Reincarnation? He got a picture of Martin Luther King and he look just like Dolph. He was smart and always has good wisdom. Aldoph was the same and was a giver. R.I.P.

Because revolution is a science which must be studied. The change we seek is based on a scientific approach. Only the most serious minded Africans/blacks will pursue this solution. This is serious work that goes largely unappreciated, but necessary to win.

Our brother is a great inspiration amongst Africans at home and abroad. Kwame was defiantly self conscious individual who put his neck on the line for Africans justly, selflessly and fearlessly. Kwame Ture was so phenomenal and defiant too. 41/98.

I Red His Books before meeting him In The Flesh, And when I First Heard Him Speak On PAN AFRICANISM, I UNDERSTOOD EVEN WHAT HE DIDN'T MENTION, THE OLDER HE GOT, THE LESS HE MOVED ARROUND, AND WOULD FORCE YOU TO GO FROM YOUR POINT OF VIEW, TO HIS, THEN TO YOUR OPPRESSOR'S , THEN TO THE VIEW OF OTHER PEOPLE IN STRUGGLE THEN LEAVE YOU TO PACK IT ALL TOGETHER
