He actually a sell out. Look how he did mlk and sncc with that black power bs during the real mission. He was a plant. Born in Trinidad never experienced racism until college in the states got close to mlk and crossed him”black power”? At a time when calling somebody black was fighting words? Ok. And he lived in the bronx and joined a all white gang lol never was for us

I wonder when and where this speech was given. I'm pretty sure it was not 1970, because the Black Panthers had denounced Stokely in 1969, and he denounced them as well. Does anybody know more about the context of this speech?
@MrT9822

Summer of 1968.
I can't think of a time where I've disagreed with Kwame, bur here I find myself at odds with 2 of his stances, and only one of them partially
What happened to Huey Newton should be taught in schools with equal fervour as MLK Jr is. Justice has not come and it won't ever until the world wins socialism
@chinmin1942

Just as well, whenever footage/audio of MLK's rallies is played in schools, there also needs to be a light shone on material like this
@emarceeqem4715

What MLK was better at was not being divisive, and bringing *all* people in America together holistically. This speech had good points but also preached an 'us vs them' strategy -- and while he had a right to be angry, us vs them only leads to more hate, suffering, and injustice for everyone involved.@@chinmin1942

26:07 hehe
What does Carmichael mean by "We off them" in several spots of this speech? I don't want to make assumptions, but at worst it sounds like he's inciting murder against certain elements of society (e.g. black "bourgeoisie" at around 20:10) could it also mean ex-communicate in this context? Or is that just optimistic thinking?
Sad that to this day you black people STILL refuse to question the humanity of the people brotha Ture is speaking against. 50years of civil rights madness WASTED.
