Loved the part about demolishing the pirate bar. It was a place in my home city - Łódź (pornounced sorta like "woods") and sadly it's closed now. It was called Gniazdo Piratów (Pirate's Nest). Been there few times at folk gigs, nice place, even if trying a bit too hard to fit into theme, while not having the actual guts to go with the energy its name suggests. I mean, if they had what it really takes to be called like that they would not have stopped that gig. Anyway thanks for a laugh and good memories :)

Having found the band online some 5 years ago, I am just really happy that from the first to the newest album the music never disappoints. It clearly progresses in style, but the entire 'folk punk' energy and vibe never changed. Too many bands go from having a great sound to just playing lame poppy background music, but even after the hiatus the Dreadnoughts never lost their recipe for great sound, but still manage to mix it up a bit with every release. And that is, it seems, very rare. Consistent good content. I hope you twats manage to play in The Netherlands somewhere soon-ish. I'll bring mead to share. I may even hook you up with a venue or event to play. Try to get in contact with the Dutch organiser Vana Events (Castlefest, Keltfest) - your music and mentality fits in very well.

I still remember Seamus birthday years ago when you guys played a show in Lucerne/Switzerland. No idea if it really was his birthday. All I know is that everybody was happy to buy this kid a drink. And fucking hell, he was drunk as fuck. Even better, so many people believed he's a roadie for the band and were so confused when he stumbled upon the stage, picked up the fiddle and played a sick ass show just to get of the stage after the show to get some more drinks on us. Good kid.I heard he's still around telling people he just turned 18 to get blackout drunk.
