First step in controlling you're emotions is watching what you eat test your will power and try to resist sugar see what your mind tries to do to you, youl feel an urge you'll want a sweet juice or a candy teach yourself how to control this feeling once you can go a few days without sugar you establish a foundation for discipline you keep it up get better at it and apply that same logic to emotions when you want to explode and get mad discipline yourself and check your vibe and energy you'll feel much better after doing it for a while and you'll notice things change around you as well

True… I’ve been doing intermittent fasting (16-18 hours)for almost 5 years now… if you could control UNNECESSARY cravings and snacking, you could control pretty much any negative thoughts and emotions. Foods, especially containing lots of sugar are the most addictive ingredients in our food.

@@henry6525 yes that is a fasting for 16 hrs… you don’t need to be obese or overweight to use IF and incorporate it in your daily life… I’m athletic body but I chose to do IF. I’m in my 50’s but I feel and look better than some in their 30’s or 40’s.

Amazing ❤ I would like to add , that now it's seems to be the case that we in fact can control our health , or at least aid it in the right direction, through the right healthy foods , and this will be different for each , I'm not telling you what is best for you , journey with it and find for yourself. But a clean and detoxified temple (body) is where miracles can happen ❤ enjoy your precious life my fellow seekers

Stoicism is far more practical and useful than any therapy or religion. It is a very mature and intelligent way of life, and applies in every situation.

I understand what you're pointing out. I interpret that principle as follows: the Stoic perspective is about acknowledging the elements beyond our direct control and focusing on our response to those circumstances. It's not so much denying the consequences of actions (like choosing to smoke for example), but rather emphasizing the importance of managing our reactions to events we can't change (while we can't always prevent health issues, we can control our response by f.e. adopting a healthy lifestyle in the face of a diagnosis).

You can’t control your health but a healthy lifestyle can increase your odds of having good health. Good health from living such a lifestyle can end in the blink of an eye. That’s the thing to be aware of.

Presence does not exist. Neither the Future. It's all the Past. We are the Past. And the Past can be changed. The only right way is to change the Past our way. In order to change the Past successfully is to predict the events we have no control of. In order to predict them, we have to learn about them. Since there are too many external events we cannot predict, we must risk before changing the Past. Conclusion: the whole life is learning and risking.
