What is stoicism 1) Make the best use of your time 2) Be the monster of your emotions 3) Wal the path of virtues - Eliminate Start / Stops - No loss of momentum 4) Self Mastery 10 Ways stoics think 1) Worst Case scenarios - Negative Visualization - going out of business - Anticipation : Lessens the impact 2) Wealth vs Mastery - Mastery never slows down. Material things slows down. Process things better. Wealth is the slave of the wise. But the master of the fool. 3) Avoiding judging - We don't know what they went through 4) Rational - Logic - Perspective - Always talk about the vision and why you started the company. Builds social capital. But stay rational & logical, everything is based on data & numbers. 5) Less hate to your competitors instead understanding - Understand what they're doing. Putting you out of business. 6) Will power - Sacrifice something to remind yourself where you came from. Produces the feeling of gratitude, you lead better, people stick long term. 7) Driven by the freedom to think yourself - Every body is going to tell you what to do and they suddenly are an expert in the field. You decide for yourself what you want to do and stop them to pressurize from the beginning. 8) Overly protective of their environment. - Watch your words map your actions. You want to achieve great things but your friends are pulling you down, cut those friends. If you don't cut, you ain't going anywhere. 9) Authenticity - People are going to say, model this person, be like that person. But if you model them, you imitate. You imitate you lose your uniqueness. Staying authentic to yourself matters the most. Accept your flaws. Don't let that bother to you. 10) Adapt & Move On - You made a mistake, you want to move on but you are still on to the same habits. You will only improve & move on if you adapt to the situation and advance to the next level.

but then also analyze people who are "failures" and make a self-analysis - look at your past objectively, look yourself in the mirror and face reality with all its harsh truths. Write down all the times you were stuck in a loop and therefore were blind and paralyzed to take action so you couldn't escape that loop until you changed something either in yourself or your change in your environment was what caused it. From my own experience - doing this and learning from failure, inaction and those negative blinding, paralyzing loops - made me realize a lot of stuff and gain lessons and massive wisdom from that. To make it visual - Only when you reach the top of the mountain (when you level up in your mindset) and then look the valleys below, can you gain the lessons and insights from all you did in the past. Then you start climbing the next mountain, going for the next level and you probably will be blind all over again to a lot of things while you are doing the climbing, progressing, unable to look from a bird's eye view. Do you guys agree?

What I have learnt from this video is To chase mastery over the wealth and wealth is just the by product of mastery To be clear what you want either to chase instant gratification or long term happiness Never to judge people on anything and just try to focus myself and my improvement Take decisions based logic and rational and on the basis of emotion Imagining the worst scenario of the action and being ready for that Finally it's your life and you decide how it should be

Once you realize the stoics already had it all figured out thousands of years ago, you don't need any 'self help'/entrepreneurship guru/coach or psychologist anymore. Great teaching, thanks! You have a great way of coaching, all the explanations ! There is a lot of wisdom packed into this video, I'm being encouraged. To be stoic in the face of danger (or your everyday life each day) is to be positive and courageous in difficult situations, which is necessary! I think you have to imagine and act as if there could be a good outcome, for the good outcome to carry on peacefully. I have to do that to get the dogs to forget about biting (I have to groom them on their nap by the window day) .

@@VALUETAINMENT It's been amazing so far, and the one that stands out for me was the power of Control and Choice. I can't always control everything, but I can control my actions and altitude. “The chief task in life is simply this: to identify and separate matters so that I can say clearly to myself which are externals not under my control, and which have to do with the choices I actually control. Where then do I look for good and evil? Not to uncontrollable externals, but within myself to the choices that are my own . . .” -EPICTETUS Yesterday, before going to bed, I watched one of your videos on Instagram about the power of "Just one more." It reminds me of the movie "Hacksaw Ridge," The way Desmond Doss keep striving for more even when at the point of death to save his colleagues. I looked back to my past, and I couldn't believe it was the power of "Just one more" that had helped me move forward in my life. The one I could remember vividly was when things went dark for me two years ago when I lost everything. I messaged a designer friend on Facebook and asked him If I could send some clients his way, He agreed. I couldn't believe we made $8,000+ in less than 25 days. It changed the way I see things. What worked then was the power of "Just one more"; My action by messaging my friend and finding those clients. Thank you Valuetainment, I've been learning a lot from this channel since 2016.

also analyze people who are "failures" and make a self-analysis - look at your past objectively, look yourself in the mirror and face reality with all its harsh truths.

Hello Pat, I like this video because I'm also into Stoicism. Actually, I found stoicism during my dark night of the soul. It helped me, my favorite is Marcus Aurelius and his meditations. What's amazing is you applied it into entrepreneurship concept. Thanks for making this video. Keep the fire burning.

I can relate to this as a trader. You have to be so rational and logical with your decision making in the markets, and when you go through a drawdown you must have that emotional grit to stay in the game and keep making those logical choices.
