I have owned this gun for years now and love it. The "two phase" safety is for each trigger.

I remember my first double-barrel, too... Protip: The weapon reengaging the safety as you open the chambers is actually very common on double-barrels, as it keeps you from having a finger on the 'on' button and sending a round or two through your foot or your friend when hunting. Plus, it aids in training as well, as your entire motion can be identical throughout the operation of the weapon - Open, clear, load, aim, off-safe, fire -> open, clear, load, aim, off-safe, fire -> open, clear, load, aim, off-safe, fire........

I have the over under model. 15+ years and well over 1,000 shots with her. Absolutely zero problems well worth the $ fora Brazilian made shot gun. Also a note to add i feel their quality control is up to par being that Stoeger is owned by Benelli

I bought this gun last summer. Its been by far the best shotgun i have owned. My primary use for it is grouse hunting and skeet shooting. I have the barrels set up with a full choke in the left and modified in the right. I pull the modified first for the birds on the ground then pull the full choke for the distance flyers. Overall I like the combinations you can get out of this gun with barrel and choke selections and its quicker than a pump for action and reloading. (In BC Canada here we are only allowed three shots in the magazine for hunting). I do disagree with this gentlemen about the safety though. I like the auto/full time safety because when your walking through the thick brush you have two triggers (double the risk) if you get a branch in there that pulls one or both of them. My only beef with this gun at first was the stock is pretty short and it kicks pretty hard. I went out and got a custom butt pad with aprox 1" of coil and that fixed both these problems.

I have owned several old double barrel shotguns in my time and I have never seen one including the winchester model 21's,23's that did not have a thumb safety that being said I have not owned a Stoger but I have looked at a few of them at the gun shop. I like the Stoger Uplander Supreme in 20 Gauge with 26" Barrels. I currently own a Savage Fox Model B-D in 20 Gauge with 26" barrels and double triggers. A great little gun. I hunt upland game quail, grouse and rabbits and I'm in thick cover sometimes so the short barrels work best for me.

Easy enough to disable the auto safety function on these guns by cutting off a little from the end of the break lever spring rod.

so i have the single trigger version and the safety engages when opened and before disengaging it i have to move it to the left or right first. moving it to the right is the two dot option, while left is single dot. on one occation the two dot option did fire both barrels but other than that one time all my selection has done is decide what barrel fires first. im wondering if my gun malfunctioned that one time or if something is actually wrong with it and it is supposed to fire both barrels on the two dot option.

I was searching, and I found that Stoeger Industries (US) is a division of Benelli Armi (Italy). In the other side, Boito Armas (Brazilian), besides making their own guns, imports guns from Benelli and Stoeger.

the cheapest for new...well I don't know if they import them in Canada but the baikals (or Remington SPR) are usually cheaper for new basic gun (double triggers extractors non- interchangable chokes )has an MSRP of 400 euros (at least in Greece) while stoegers have about 450-500 euros (I'm talking about sxs shotguns)

Kyle Lees Not a fan of the review because it's a shotgun you own? I've owned 2 O/U's and another SxS. I've had this shotgun out clay shooting and I stick by my comments on it. That said, there aren't very many videos on this shotgun: why don't you post a counter-point video on your Stoeger, what you like about it, and how it has performed for you? My opinion doesn't have to be the only one out there. Heck, I'll even link to your video from mine in case other people want another opinion.

Nice try at a review. You forgot to mention length of pull, weight, does it take choke tubes, if not how is it choked. Also please shoot it then review it. You are missing out on all the fun and your review can only be a real review with at least some experience operating the shotgun. I applaud you for making the video but a do over would be much appreciated. I am considering purchasing one of these and watched this vid to get the low down on it but got nothing really useful. Please go try it out

actually pretty easy to buy firearms up here. You need a hunter safety course, which allows you to get a P.A.L. (Possession and Acquisition Licence) and you're good to go.

  • @gregwimmer9600

Disagree with you on the safety. After fire and extraction you should start on safe every time. You will then get used to it when hunting so that its always safe on before shooting so your first move will be safe off then shoot.

This guy clearly doesn't know very much about guns. An automatic safety is a great feature that will prevent you from probably shooting your buddy once you reload and forgot that the gun wasn't on safe in the heat of the moment. Plus are you really telling me that you are going to have time to shoot two shots, reload, then shoot two more shots at a group of passing mallards or a pheasant? Get real.
