Stockyard Industrial Lead: Kato Repower Project for an HO Scale Front Range Products GP9
Ойын-сауық
This video shows an example of powering an HO Scale GP9 with a Kato drive and Kato trucks from a Stewart/Kato F-unit, starting with a Front Range Products chassis and shell. I take you through the main steps in doing a Kato repowering, which can be done for many other 4-axle HO Scale locomotives including Geeps by Athearn and Proto 2000. The result is a smooth-running and highly reliable locomotive for your fleet!

Fantastic! I’m going to be doing this to an old Proto GP18 soon, so this is quite the nice tutorial. Thanks!

Thank you! That's from my grandparents house when they lived in western Nebraska and it kind of fits with the stockyard theme. 😊

Thanks for the comment! I think it's a fairly simple project, although it does get easier the more times you do it.
Great video.

Well I don't have any plans for it, so I could certainly sell it for a low price if you're interested.

I have an F7 b project on the back burner so, yes i would be interested in the shell, frame or any other parts you are not using on your GP9. You should be able to get my email address from the about section of my channel's page

Got it, thanks
Not to be too critical, but you're very hard to hear. Perhaps an external mic that you could clip to your shirt? I don't think they're too expensive. You wouldn't even need a noise cancelling type if you stay indoors.
