Stockholm is the capital of Sweden. It has the most populous urban area in Sweden as well as in Scandinavia. 1 million people live in the municipality, approximately 1.6 million in the urban area, and 2.4 million in the metropolitan area. The city stretches across fourteen islands where Lake Mälaren flows into the Baltic Sea. Outside the city to the east, and along the coast, is the island chain of the Stockholm archipelago. The area has been settled since the Stone Age, in the 6th millennium BC, and was founded as a city in 1252 by Swedish statesman Birger Jarl. It is also the county seat of Stockholm County.

Beautiful walk around Stureby, Stockholm Daniel 👍 I had to look up the location and it's surprising to see how close this is to places such as Globen, it seems easy to forget you're in the same city sometimes! Looks like you had fun on the zipline, Stockholm could do with a few more of those, maybe they'll install one at Slussen. ❤

It needs a little Comercial center with a few shops like a Hairdresser groceries or slaughter too it needs one restaurant or Caffè. Like another parts of Stockholm's suburbs. Despite is really beautiful neighborhood.

Here in the DC area, it has been near 90 degrees F (30-something C?) all week, until today. It's around 75 F today and I have justified opening a window.
Stureby looks a bit like where I live in Halmstad, with parks, villas, gardens and also some older appartment houses. Lovely!
This was a wonderful relaxed walk in a great Swedish environment. Daniel in his well-known enthusiasm. Stureby ist very nice and Monica was also in the chat, even though she has so much work with her move.

Please make a walk to Djurgården and Gamla Stan again. On the 11th of May 2024, after 9 years, I am returning to my favorite city in Stockholm
One of the advantages of being from South Africa is that we don't easily think other places are dangerous. 😂😂😂

In the 1920s workers(handymen) started building own homes. The areas with apartment buildings were finished from the late '40s. There was a plan for the whole area clubbed in the late '20s. I grew up in Stureby. Great place for a kid in the '60s-'70s.
