I don’t care what anyone says. Toyota and BMW came together and made a great car. I am forever thankful for them to do this cause I am getting the new 2025 model later this year/next year.

i had mine in my garage (with exhaust pointed outward from the garage, not agains the wall) and I revved slightly maybe ~ 4k rpm with some pops just to hear the sound. my wife was in the master bed that's on the other side of the house taking a nap and she woke up, came out and said STOP IT! the neighbors! - so stock is already fairly loud.

Absolutely love the B58. Sounds great in my M40i too. I was about to move up to the M3 but the announcement of a manual Supra next year brought me back here.

the cold start isnt loud because the cars exhaust valve is tuned to close upon cold start to suppress the noise of the cold start, I removed my exhaust valve on my supra and my cold start is much louder than idle. in the clip with the cold start you can even hear the valve closing shut right as you start the car.

Yes true they keep value closed to heat cat faster.

Same thing with mine, it’ll only crackle and pop on start up if warmed up prior

just got my 2021 a91 and i did notice when i start in sport mode when cold, but doesnt crackle or pop. But! when i start in sport when warmed up, it crackles. Weird....

Yeah I think they want to warm up the cat before injecting more fuel for pops.

Quick question, can you open and close the exhaust valve with the car on accessory mode and the engine off? I recently installed an HKS exhaust and I physically checked, the valve will open and close by pushing the sport button only when the engine is on. If I push the sport button with the engine off, it will show sport on the cluster and the valve will remain closed until I start the engine, then will open by itself. If you can check on your car and lmk i will save a trip to the stealership, and they probably won’t know anyway. Thanks brother

Yeah only opens when engine on. And when engine cold it stays closed for a min or so.

You could of talked about how that active valve flap doesn’t change the exhaust note. It simply just allows for more airflow.

It’s definitely louder when flap is open. The pops are from powertrain only in Sport mode.

No all versions of Supra have the GR name.

Can you turn off that popping noise from the exhaust? Not sure why people love that sound. It’s like the car is falling apart.
