Holy shit, I never saw the shotgun in the “Meet the Engineer” video WOW
1. The way you aim is best for you, instead of trying to find the "perfect aim". You should instead figure out what problems you make when aiming, and then practice not doing it. Even if it takes a long time, you're aim will eventually improve in the end. If you consistently hit enemies and deal high damage, then that probably means your aim is perfect for you. 2. Remember not to think of yourself as some sort of extension to your buildings, but instead think of your building as an extension of you. The Sentry Gun is an extension to your damage output, even if it can deal tons of damage at any time, to any enemy, it doesn't mean you can't either. Same thing applies to your other buildings, even though the Dispenser and Teleporter can help your team in ways you normally can't, doesn't mean you can't help in other ways. You can move, your buildings can't, when a teammate is in a fight, you can move over and help, your buildings can't.
6:17 I've seen alot of people use this weird aiming thing recently where they sorta... spin around? i dunno how they can look but it really works! they're all freakin masters always topscoring! its like they have eyes in the back of their heads or smth craaaazy

Actually Dane, thank you so much for the aim talk. I've been trying to improve my aim for years by fucking torturing myself with low sensitivity and throwing my arm across the entire desk, trying to change my style to predictive firing, and all kinds of stuff. But recently I've found that just by swapping back to my old, comfortable 3.00 sensitivity and flicking at people - pretty much the exact same way you do! - I actually do really well. The segment you did on that really affirms my choice.

6:41 I think you might have develop that habit from the extremly large viewmodels the game has by default. Keeping your aim and chest level to reduce how much you have to move it will usually result in the shotgun taking a decent chunk of the screen. You used to use a custom animations thing that prevented that but they eventually aded the small viewmodels that everyone useses now. That's just my gess on how that came to be.

Yup. The default shotgun is very good. When I started playing tf2 more than ten years ago (jesus christ, it has been a while) I remember thinking that the default shotgun felt like a peashooter that wasn't meant to be used, (plus my aim was garbage) but at some point I played a match as fat scout and kicked ass with, and that was when my eyes were opened. The shotgun is actually very good. As an engineer, you can defend yourself very well with the shotgun, even push with it. As a soldier when you run out of ammo on the rocket launcher, the shotgun will finish the job. As a pyro, the shotgun counters other pyros who don't have it. As the heavy, I still prefer the sandvich. I just didn't use it for a long time because of some early bad experiences with it.

If I’m gonna be honest, if I’m not using rescue ranger in a sentry nest, the shotgun is my favourite pick cuz it’s just reliable and u know ur gonna do a good chunk of damage
It’s like a sword and a shield. Yeah, you can use each individually, and one is most definitely more effective at causing harm, but together they become far more than they are individually. The sentry is a constant threat that draws fire and defends a location, and the shotgun is a surprisingly strong, short range hit-scan perfect for finishing off softened targets. Used alone, each is effective, but together they shine brightest.

@@eggcelentrat4005 Yes, but I don't like most skins, so paying more for gray and brown weapons I guess

It’s been 2 years, you forgot about this comment but I gotta question… Did you ever *get* tf2?
7:30 That Soldier made me cry 😂😭💀💀
Whenever I watch uncle Dane, I cant help but feel good from the pure RESPECT he gives in all his videos while able to still give his own opinions, he was even able to be respectful on the most opinionated types of videos, the teir videos, I just think it's a good skill to have, keep up the good work unkel Daen
holy SHIT the way some of these edits line up with the music around the 7 minute mark is amazing
0:18 Master Chief Sends His Regards.
Same, when Im playing a class like scout or sniper and on a huge killstreak I think to myself “Wow my aim is on point today” then cant hit shit and die
Shotgun is BEAUTIFUL. I love it!
That last line is the most Dale Conagher thing i've ever freakin heard. Love it!
Wasn't expecting the Halo music, love it.
Honestly I always overlook stock weapons, due to the other weapons being more appealing for certain situations, using ranger for defensive and frontier for offensive (I don't have the panic attack and I can't aim well enough for widow). Because who needs normal shotgun when you have one that fixes buildings for less ammo or one that gets crits from kills? Of course I use other stock weapons because all the other weopon's downsides outweigh the stocks, such as most other flamethrowers having an airblast cost or most other wrenches not being as helpful for sentries. I'd just like to say, thank you for opening my eyes to the stock shotgun

Uncle Dane:Does a intro without something special Me:Visible consufion
this dude loves engineer so much he made a 10 minute video about ONE of the weapons he uses. this is top tier content
I really thought that “wait what?” At 6:00 was gonna be about him taking a medkit while being healed
1:44 "uncle dane the sentry man" a rightfully earned name , look at how many pistol shot he landed on that solider
love your vids man!
I find it pretty satisfying that he reviews the weapon in the beginning on the same fun map I played today for the first time with bots for a few hours today just to practice in a chill environment, and since I was in offline mode I had stock weapons, and I played engineer aggressively and found out he is a force to be reckoned with if you can aim right and get the med down lol.
slow-mo scout scream got me XD 8:30
Crazy ol' man with a stock shotgun in hand.
Something that helped be get better at aiming is take the extra second to aim the shot eventually you’ll get it down to instantly lining up your shots
I like using the mini sentry as an alarm of sorts. I usually just rove around, but when my sentry starts taking damage or shooting something I go right over
